  1. I got stuck in Toy Blast. I don't usually play these games, but it was so easy...until I hit about level 51, then I got stuck for a while, then I got lucky, and now I'm stuck at level 54, I think I'm going to quit here, because I keep getting overwhelmed by the ice, and "cold turkey" is the only way I know how to beat an addiction.
  2. Bandcamp (so basically directly from the musicians) I've also seen records in Books-A-Million, Barns & Noble, and Guitar Center. Last one I got was that Animals 180G 2016 remaster I mentioned recently.
  3. Over here, it's recommended that for males, as soon as the balls drop, and I don't know what the female equivalent is. Bobby lost his at like 8 weeks. But I would trust the doctor's recommendations -- if he doesn't feel comfortable operating on them so small, then he shouldn't. ASPCA recommends 8 weeks
  4. I wouldn't know nothing about that, so would prefer solutions that don't require either of those things. In fact, I would prefer solutions that stick in the audio world. Now one thing that I will do and have done is go to live concerts, and that definitely increases my enjoyment.
  5. Well, yeah, they don't have age restrictions like we do. That's why it's recommended to have them fixed as early an age as possible. Cotton looks like he's smiling.

  7. Listened to A Passion Play by Jethro Tull last night, listening to Simon Rattle's Mussorgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition now. Really digging it, hope they add more. They have some Bowie on there...Diamond Dogs, Young Americans, others, but no Ziggy Stardust...similarly, they have Thick as a Brick but no Aqualung...but they do have the first and fourth Foreignor albums...two by Ornette Coleman, didn't see a whole lot of jazz on there, yeah, I'd say it's about 50% classic rock. The only Kate Bush they have on there is 50 Words for Snow which is a weird choice. Oh, look, they have the first three from Black Sabbath -- I actually have the 24/96 of those, I can actually compare those.
  8. So how dysfunctional are you, that you keep coming back for more?
  9. Listening now. Sounds pretty clean.
  10. That ^ is why.
  11. It's yet another non-inter-compatible lossless compression format. Like FLAC and Apple lossless wasn't enough. Bacon.
  12. What do you think "mitt-buffing" refers to?
  13. Oh goddammit, want pink guitar.
  14. Damn, you're a lot younger than I thought you were.
  15. But would you be butt miffed if you had your mitts buffed?
  16. Rather than resurrect a subthread in "what did you do today" or "ye mac thread", I thought I'd start a new one. What is the math software of choice to do DSP, modeling, etc.? I wouldn't mind paying a little bit, but of course I would prefer free, since I'm only a hobbyist at this point. I actually do need it at work (not really, my assessment), but CSC is so cheap they won't spring for anything the customer doesn't put in the contract as 'required'. Shelly posted that she hated the way Mathematica does licensing, and after investigating it, I concur that my infrequent use of it will not justify paying $155/year or $20/month. I might actually be in the Matlab beta program (I still get an email every time a new beta release comes out). Sounds like this reddit thread, except I'm asking youse guys (Chris, KG, Shelly, Birgir, et al)...I'll try Octave in lieu of any other recommendations or disrecommendations. Any and all thoughts appreciated.
  17. Shape of Despair, Alone in the Mist -- Bandcamp streaming and purchase link I thought their last album -- Monotony Fields -- was a nice return to form, back to the Shades of... and Angels of Distress era, but this might be even better. Doom. Just funereally paced, cavernous reverb-washed doom, where it takes them 5 minutes to sing one 4-line verse. EDIT: It's a remaster of their 1998 demo, that might explain why it literally harkens back to their early days.
  18. Goddamn, I bet that tastes like meat candy.
  19. A Winged Victory for the Sullen, Iris -- beautiful Synthetische Musik
  20. "carbon-loaded cellulose" according to the website: http://www.vandersteen.com/products/treo-ct
  21. A friend of mine described the lead singer as what would happen if Freddie Mercury and Anthony Kiedis had a child. Plus, catch as fuck.
  22. Happy birthday, Dan! (party favour noise)
  23. Definitely should be considered its own thing. Has there been a faithful adaptation of anything PKD did? Maybe A Scanner Darkly, but there's a long and sordid history of taking liberties with adaptations of his material.
