New HiFiMAN headphones
Sure, why not: Happy belated birthday! (party favour noise) Nicely done, by the way. Contrite without being a complete bootlicking toady. I have hopes for this one.

Which Cooking Are You?
- And now what did you do TODAY?
One of the people putting up my sister is having a birthday today, so I'm hanging out with a bunch of fit, well groomed, well dressed, dare I say cute guys, and a couple shlubs and their wives and me and my sister. Just thought I'd make Steve jealous. Edit: Apparently, some of the cute guys are straight. Who knew?- New HiFiMAN headphones
Maybe I should re-read the welcome PM, it's been through a lot of editing -- and by committee -- so who knows what it looks like now. Does it mention the 13-step hazing...?- What are you EATING right now?

They have those. I thought. Nope, just looked, most of them don't have a display...they expect you to have access to one, or for watching movies. But it's basically a hard drive with a play button. I wonder if finagling a small 2" display would give you functionality, or if you'd still need something else. So if you don't need ripping, what about one of those other personal music devices that the people on head-fi are always going on about? Like the Sony or the Fiio.- Squeezebox Alternative or Chasing the Pegacorn
Ooooooh, so what you want is an iPod, except with built-in ripper, basically. Sorry, disregard my suggestions.- The Live Music Thread
Okay, that was fantastic. They even recreated the viral video that made them initially famous...except with a choir. They played just about every song I would've wanted them to, except for "Cannon" (my favourite), but they surprised me by playing "Shades" as the closer, my favourite track from their second album. Two guitars, piano, violin and cello, and they all sing. So imagine Dead Can Dance meets Sigur Ros meets ... I don't know, Crosby Stills & Nash? Really glad I went.- Upcoming releases

I've not heard the M6, myself, but I'm a big fan of their fully balanced and dual mono designs, of which the M6PRE is both. (I'm more of an A3^CR guy.) - And now what did you do TODAY?
