  1. I was just giving you a hard time, Wayne. If it really bugged me, I would have, indeed, merged the threads.
  2. Okay, listened to Everyday Robots again -- damn this is really kind of slow and introspective. When listened to in context of other more energetic albums, it's fine, but on its own, it's just kind of boring.
  3. Yuh, those were fantastic. I told Jeff he needs to get them for his piano instead of listening to the built-in speakers.
  4. It annoys me that this isn't in the kickstarter thread. Do they merit their own thread? No, they don't.
  5. Fuck Coaxials. Fuck ribbons. Quad 12L Actives are where it's at. You have your head ears roughly in the plane of the tweeters and you're done. They got no bottom, but you have a little bit of budget left over for a sub. I listen to the Equators all the time, but the budget on them were $300 -- if you got more dosh, the Quads are the best in their price bracket. I have no experience with the Emotivas. Yet.
  6. Commas save lives.
  7. Tori Amos, Unrepentant Geraldines -- live streaming preview from Amazon
  8. But there's a comma!
  9. IQ, The Road of Bones -- \mm/ -- modern prog + mellotron -- totally dig
  10. Bitten on Netflix
  11. Ditto on curious how the brisket turned out.
  12. Noodles with home-made pasta sauce -- eggplant tomato sauce, ground turkey, cauliflower, onions, garlic, olives, eggplant, spices. Delicious.
  13. Yeah, that ^ was my favourite of the First Listens from last week. Me, today: PFM (Premiata Forneria Marconi) -- great Italian prog
  14. (party favour noise)
  15. We should do this.
  16. Revisited both the Agalloch and the Swans -- I take back what I said (or rather, agreed with) re: the new Agalloch -- I quite like that post-metal instrumental, "Plateau of the Ages".
  17. Oh, come on, you gotta see him live, always interesting. Me, just: Le Butcherettes, Cry is for the Flies on First Listen Nice throwback to deathrock era punkishness
  18. Happy birthday! (party favour noise)
  19. I liked it, actually, but I could see how one could find it boring. Did you find 13 boring? I didn't.
  20. I doubt Jude would be of much help -- he'd probably want you to agree to the TOA, also.
  21. I concur, actually, I'll listen to it again, but the new Swans affected me much more positively (if one can use, 'positively' in this context).
  22. Yeah, thanks for all the input. Now if you could only tell me how to get 25% off... (Nah, I'm kidding, still going the Oppo route, myself.)
  23. I don't have an iPhone, but I'm about ready to try sous vide. What's the iPhone connection, it tells you when it's ready? You can control the temperature of the bath?
