Since Justin's thread wasn't really about a DSD DAC, I thought I'd continue the discussion here. I'm far too lazy to split out the discussion from there and point it here, so I'll just point to it there from here. Of particular interest is Torpedo's post here.

So...seems the cheapest points of entry are the Teac, a Korg, the pre-outs from a Pioneer receiver, and maybe perhaps others, haven't found them yet (most either on this list or derived therefrom).
Please discuss. I'm leaning towards the Teac, myself. Even though I'm fond of Pioneer, I just don't like the form factor as a DAC. However, if I can convince myself to use it as a receiver as well, that'd be different. Yeah, sorry, I meant after they get the information out of him, it doesn't matter to me what his motivations are regarding his ultimate punishment.
-
Wait, what? It's over? What happened? EDIT: Nevermind, see that he's in custody. Yeah, I can't say it matters to me what his motivations were -- if he was involved in the killing of those 3 people and the maiming of so many others, he deserves what he gets.

Favorite Music Lyrics (Read the Fucking Rules You Damn Philistines)

Yazoo, "Winter Kills" I actually have no idea what she's saying, from approximately 1:30 to 2:00, but I only just realized it was there. It must have hit me totally subconsciously, because I was just listening to the Reconnected Live album, and she says the same thing. I'm pretty sure. Anyone know? EDIT: Got some of it from the remix on the Reconnected EP ("Electronic Periodic's Sub/Piano Mix"): -
There's quite a few people that believe he's "not as guilty" as his older brother, and that he (the younger) was under his (the older's) influence. And yeah, they need to know if they were working in isolation or not. And whether or not there are any more bombs.

And I don't even want to know what the battery clamp is for. Also, does that channel really have 200K+ viewers nee listeners? EDIT: Can't do it, too nerve-wracking, going back to work.

Unholy carp, I'm not getting any work done today. Also, if I ever get around to making my all-instrumental album, I'm calling it, "Watch your mics".

For work, back to dub techno:
-
(and for the record I did watch the epic Patton Oswalt filibuster -- pure win, albeit dementia-ridden)
-
Listening to more Kwoon -- they range from borderline metal ("The Guillotine Show") to delicate atmospheric acoustic post-rock. Dig.
-
I cannot seem to stop listening to two tracks: Kwoon, "I Lived on the Moon" and Pulshar, "Nospheratu" The former is pure icelandic shoegaze bliss a la Sigur Ros and New Order's "Elegia", with an epic, soaring climax and a gorgeous animated video And the latter is a groovy dub techno track worthy of a 40 minute extended remix a la Orb's Blue Room...but it doesn't have one.

Yeah, he's famous for so much more than Pink Floyd -- very active, many of my favourite album covers right up until at least 2009. Dream Theater, Mars Volta, Muse... I've always wanted a coffee table, for exactly one purpose -- coffee table books. Escher, Dali, Thorgerson. Best album designer in the world. Easily.

ac is definitely the best most recent technology in terms of speed, but I am not familiar with power, which is what you really want to increase area coverage. I don't think they make repeaters for that yet.
-
Sylvan, Force of Gravity -- more neo-prog; medigs.
-
Sylvan, Sceneries -- a pentuple of quadrilogies...or rather, a quadrilogy of quadrilogies and one trilogy. Prog by contemporary standards, although I'd call it neo-prog...post-prog? Delightful. Melikey.

I used to have that poster somewhere.

Oh, and it's not $129, it's $156 (EU120). :\

They did something really cool -- they went through all the videos and synchronized them with cell phone tower information and they found someone who made a call at the exact same time as the second explosion who also dropped a package off at the location of the second explosion. So now they have the name associated with that number, someone to question, but they don't know if it's the same person as in the video. This is from my local news radio station, WTOP, which has been extremely conservative about prematurely reporting information. I usually hear about rumours as denials first, for example.

I thought Carver worked for Sunfire? Oh, wait, I see, Carver != Bob Carver LLC.

Yeah, I was reminded today that my mom said an awful lot of mean things. My security question on an ancient account I was trying to access was, "Why do you hate your mother?" :\ I couldn't remember.

Hurray! for removal of dead things

Yup, I did understand that it's not much more than that. Yeah, I saw that too. But what the hell, they're already paying for the webspace, why not try to expand the market to gamers and computer geeks?

The thing is, our government does an excellent job of preventing attacks such as these, and has prevented many. This is the first one of such ambitious scope that got through. That said, to quote Blue Oyster Cult:
