  1. This ---^ I recently ran across a list of 10 spooky albums, which of course reminded me that I hadn't yet listened to the new Scott Walker yet. Actually, I can't listen to this right now...not "...and work" at the same time. So putting on some Michael Brook. EDIT: Okay, now I am. My cat's looking at the speakers funny. I hope Knucks is on tonight, I may not be able to listen to this on speakers.
  2. Mmm...
  3. Hemlock Grove -- meh
  4. They rarely try unless they have something concrete to go on. I've turned in a distinct clue on at least two of mine (out of 3 or 4). I knew exactly who it was in both cases, it was just a matter of proof.
  5. Having worked in that exact area, it's wise. Also, allowing for other options like B&H, etc.
  6. Happy Birthday, Dr. Gilmore! (a distinctly undergraduate party favour noise)
  7. You know, like a phono stage.
  8. Yes, exactly. This is exemplary. Literally. If it had happened in the other order, I would have pointed (not literally [well, maybe literally, but since they can't see my finger over email or phone, I would have had to virtually point]) to this incident and said, "this is an example of how it should be handled".
  9. "...inventory error..."
  10. And one of the girls here at the office immediately proclaimed that she liked my haircut.
  11. Electric clippers and a mirror -- technically I didn't shave shave, I just clipped it down to 1mm or so.
  12. I shaved my head. [Newt]Mostly[/Newt]
  13. I'll send you my pair of AKG K550's. I'm not smitten with them, but you wanted to try them at one point. I think you'll like them -- they're like the closed equivalents of the 580's. And as comfy.
  14. I laughed. "No description available." I don't know why I put that in quotes.
  15. A pillow? For the Shures.
  16. Michael Shannon was simply a beautiful choice for casting, and a real mensch for doing it and doing it right.
  17. ^ Need Me: Phoenix, Bankrupt! -- pretentious self-indulgent twaddle -- it's almost prog, I like it
  18. Exactly. "But it didn't go anywhere..." ...with precision.
  19. I don't think I knew that.
  20. Those Rotrings have a nice heft to them.
  21. Juno Reactor, The Golden Sun of the Great East -- you know, it's really sad -- "Juno Reactor" is such a great name, and yet I know that like me, mentally, a lot of people lump him in with all the other instrumental electro artists, but he really is one of the best. And I would have no idea how to "rebrand" him so that he stood out more. He's so much more melodic and lyrical than 99% of all the other stuff, which to me is what it's all about.
  22. Precious metals are still precious metals.
  23. It's like a family name -- the families in Dune, for example, were House Atreides, House Harkonnen, etc. Seats of power. But it doesn't have to be a family name, it can be tied to a place or a thing.
  24. It's even easier to marathon the second season. Alas. Want more Luther. Every once in a while, I walk with my hands out at my sides, swiveling my entire upper torso. It's my grieving. Me: Spy -- this is awesome. It's over-the-top silly, like Get Smart or When Things Were Rotten, except it's British. Not quite Archer good, but there are spots that are better. Yes, I said it, 'better'.
