  2. Tangram, Layers -- with an act name like "Tangram", you expect some very Tangerine Dream -like music. And you'd be right.
  3. New Amorphis sounds pretty good, too:
  4. RIP Maude Frickert.
  5. Wisdom of Crowds == Bruce Soord of Pineapple Thief + Jonas Renkse of Katatonia
  6. Amorphis -- clean vocals ftw!
  7. ^ such a great album, from my favourite period of theirs their golden period Me: Flaming Lips, The Terror -- easily my favourite album of theirs, I am totally digging this -- it's got space, it's got proggishness, it's got experimentation, and it's got hooks -- how is it I don't usually like these guys?
  8. Yeah, can't really take much time off this month, alas.
  9. Do report, sounds awesome.
  10. I started listening to that and I'll go back to it, as I really didn't mind it (I like experimental, I just don't usually "get" The Flaming Lips), but then I remembered I wanted to listen to The Ocean's new one, Pelagial.
  11. It depends on the area -- if you said DC, I'd say, "nay", but it's Minneapolis -- don't they have snowplows 365 days/year? My guess: you'll be alright.
  12. new Dead Can Dance live album
  13. But he does know -- he sees everything
  14. Please tell me they do a 'poke an eye out' joke
  15. Long Distance Calling, The Flood Inside (as well as their other albums) -- metal, very jammy, somewhat "post-", largely instrumental (actually, I remember vocals, so the new album may have more vocals than previous)
  16. I blame drugs (on the new The Knife album). Pretty much only the first track really "works" for me. The rest of it, I have to be in an entirely different mood (ambient/damnbient/experimental).
  17. This isn't fake -- yes, it's a face made entirely out of lum: You won't be able to sleep with it in the same room. In fact, you probably shouldn't even bring it in to movies with you, people will ask you to "turn it off". It'll probably be the visual equivalent of Black Sabbath to Coelacanthes, though.
  18. Ruby Velle & the Soulphonics, based on a post of Dan's -- this is groovy as shit, hits me where I live, right up there with Sharon Jones. New Knife is cued up next.
  19. Did this really happen?
  20. Sent frum mah phone-blet using Tapatalk.
  21. It was better as a silent movie. Someone should dub the soundtrack to "man on wire" onto it.
