I find it's ugliness endearing.

And now what did you do TODAY?
Love the overhead shot, and lollers at "non-mechanical".

I didn't see any headphones in the pic. For that matter, I didn't see a camera, so I don't know what I was thinking.

I can't decide if that's the most beautiful thing I've ever seen or the most ugly.

Yeah, it's Ghost in the Shell. It's when they first find that the cyberbrain of someone's (someone important -- some minister or ambassador or something) translator or assistant was hacked into. I was just reminiscing how brilliant the movie was, because -- as is true to life on the part of the cops -- they don't get to see the actual crime being committed or even allude to it, they're brought in after the fact. I think it's time for me to watch it again. I watch it every couple years. I know, I'll make Mark watch it. I was always creeped out by the throbbing tube thingy. Was that really necessary?

Oh, that's not so bad then. They could have done some clever "reveal" type situations in Cloverfield if they had done something like this.

What are you EATING right now?
I don't know if they're worth $4 each, but they're pretty freakin' good.

Talking Heads, "Born Under Punches"/"Crosseyed and Painless"/"The Big Curve"/"Houses in Motion", both from Remain in Light and from The Name of this Band is... -- quite possibly the greatest quartuple of songs from an album ever. Addictive to a fault.

For the Kickstarter, Enrico Colantoni (who plays Veronica Mars' father) posted his videos in the horrible format. I defended him. It's just a format -- who cares? When Stanley Kubrick shot some of his films in 4:3, he put bars on top and bottom to convert them to widescreen. I consider 4:3 the more correct way to watch those movies. Think of this as some kind of ridiculous Imax. Ric -- to 4K?!?!? What the L did you use as an upscaler/line double/quadrupler/16-tupler/whatever.

Antidote: The Name of this band is Talking Heads -- disk 2 (starting at Psycho Killer)

I think you meant Quadrupel.

Fuck, got a song stuck in my head -- from the 80's, I think, main lyrics go "stay with me (falsetto) won't you stay with me" in the chorus and either "write you a new song" or something like that in one of the verses (2nd, I think). Sounds like A-Ha or someshit. EDIT: Found it, Thompson Twins, "Hold Me Now".

I know what DXD is, I was asking when it was going to hit the mainstream and/or if it had started to hit already -- it's a logical progression from DSD, except in bit depth rather than frequency speed. DSD was originally a pro-side only archival format that just happened to cross over into the consumer realm.- DSD DAC
Where does DXD come in? And you shouldn't call it 256xDSD, that makes it sound like it's 256-uple. It's DSD256. And: want. Also, "oven-controlled" is actually brilliant, in the old days, oscillators used to drift at different temperatures...although a crystal oscillator shouldn't drift.- What are you listening to Part the Third
Apop B, Welcome to Earth and then APBL2K I don't know why I love this (the studio album, Welcome to Earth) so much, but I do. It's divided distinctly into two parts -- the "hits" and the more experimental numbers. And it's not like it's divided evenly -- there are only 5 or 6 tracks that can be considered the hits, and they're not distributed evenly -- tracks 2, 3, 5, 8 and 10 (11 is questionable, and 7 is the ballad), but it really works for me like no other album they've done. Probably my favourite "futurepop" album. (Yes, moreso than any VNV Nation album.)- slower forum
Poor bear. Poor rolly-polly bear. Probably put a hurtin' on that Russian car, too. Poor, poor, stupid, in-the-way bear. I miss Zeitgeist. I think I met Robin the one time I was there. Nothing special, she was just checking up on me -- I think she recognized me as a non-regular. I think that speaks well of her. And I didn't know Adam from Eve, so I thought she was just another bartender. It was nice weather the one time I was there. But now that I like IPA's, I really need to go back. And yes, I do remember having a Damnation at Zeitgeist. I think it was Friday the 13th, too. "Bacon crack"- Deals
