  1. I used to have OMG Strep as a kid all the time. I've taken so many antibiotics at this point, that bacteria actually cannot live inside of me. I have to eat predigested food. Thanks, doctors of the 70's.
  2. Not at all -- I'm not actually familiar with the bridge (or the DAC, for that matter), but I would make it a rule of thumb to listen to my inner downgrader. That's assuming I had one.
  3. I doubt they'll go that low again if demand goes up, which I'm sure it will after that Absolute Sound review. But yeah, I'll wait and see if they go any lower.
  4. Key Lime Pie... ...flavoured yogurt
  5. What about the headphones, were they not in attendance?
  6. Is that $50 for the pair? 'cause Amazon has them for US$105 (for the pair) right now. Tempted to get a pair of the floorstanders and a pair of the bookshelves for an all-Pioneer surround system (I already have a Pioneer receiver).
  7. Here you go: I'm a gettin' the purple one.
  8. Girls soiling themselves. You'll see what I did there.
  9. I think you want a Fostex: No snarky remark here, sometimes the jokes just write themselves.
  10. ^ Lollers. I'm not going to argue with this -- that was actually one of my first thoughts as well -- right up there with the Phiatons.
  11. Emmalee Crane, Formantine, Crux, and "Pretty in Pink" -- great swathes of washy goodness, a la John Foxx's Cathedral Oceans series and Lisa Gerrard's Whale Rider soundtrack; ambienty goodness. "Pretty in Pink" appears to be based on the same chord progression as the Psych Furs tune of the same name, although I didn't put a lot of thought into it, so could be wrong. (I was too busy blissing out.) (After all, that's how I discovered this artist -- I had searched on Pretty in Pink and played some of the versions, hoping for a cool cover.)
  12. You mean, like all PA speakers everywhere? It prevents the beer from getting to the drivers, although I doubt that's the intention on these.
  13. I'm confused, though. When I searched on MacBook Air, the response right next to it was also MSRP US$999, but was only $50 off, and the $779 one only has 2G memory, so I'd make sure that was the actual retail before I bought, based on that discount. I mean, if it's US$799 retail, that may not be as nice a discount. I have no idea how to check MSRP for archival Apple products, though.
  14. Pfff -- don't be a hater until you've heard it. I suspect the Stax mafia might be at work here...and yes, I realize that as a card-carrying founder of the Stax mafia, you are legally obliged to post the above post...I just had to say that, as well.
  15. But it probably complements the driver/housing.
  16. link On-ear. (Largely) closed. (Largely) black. Leather (& aluminum). Detachable, non-microphonic cord with mic and remote for, e.g., Apple products. Not electrostatic. $300. No, I'm not getting them, I have enough headphones, I'm not getting them, I have enough headphones, I'm not getting them, I have enough headphones, I'm not getting them, I have enough headphones... But, dang, I'm curious.
  17. Wait, what? Buffy Season 8 (a comic book) on Blu-Ray? Also, is it really 5a.m.?
  18. Well, that went nowhere -- they thought I wanted to cancel my contract, so they may have just subscribed me. Good thing they don't have my credit card information. I told them, "you fail", amongst other things.
  19. That's at work. Now at home: New Wet Kojak (Girls Against Boys side project from the same era).
  20. Now on a Piazzolla/Tango/Bandoneon kick, starting with Zoe Tiganouria, Tanguera, and probably to be followed by Concierto Para Bandoneon/Tres Tangos, La Camorra: The Solitude of Passionate Provocation, Rough Dancer and the Cyclical Night, and Tango: Zero Hour. Probably well into tomorrow.
  21. Nothing but sympathy, crappy. I just heard a story on the radio that said there was no good way to fly in to New York if you had to be there tomorrow. Driving was probably easier.
  22. Really? (tries to resist urge to make One Ring To Rule Them All reference pedantic singular vs. plural reference...fails)
  23. So...paper mâché, basically.
  24. I forgot to leave a sign on my door saying I was out (at work). Most of other apartment dwellers in my building are hardly ever home, and weren't when I left. I expect the entire building to resemble a Christo wrapping be swathed in toilet paper when I get home.
