  1. Mostly Autumn, whatever they have on Spotify, in reverse order -- The Ghost Moon Orchestra, Still Beautiful - Live 2011, That Night in Leamington...serious fucking wanker, dude has a serious David Gilmour fetish, exemplified by the opening to "Heroes Never Die", which is an obvious homage to the opening of "Shine On, You Crazy Diamond (Part 1)"...as well as the second half of every song they did evar, which is an epic guitar solo a la "Comfortably Numb". NTTAWWT. I'm listening to it, aren't I? But then they veer off and do something different like "The Spirit of Autumn Past" and "Flowers for Guns".
  2. Wind Map looks like the Luck Vortex right at the moment that Colin purchases a raffle ticket, as of 3:33.
  3. We'll see if I can make that -- Falls Church is no longer my Alehouse of choice during the week, what with it being ...(wanders off, looks it up)...21 minutes...actually, that's not that bad, I wonder what it is during the week around 6-6:30...? What's good about those Alehouse dinners is that the restaurant side of things do a damn good job of everything, food-wise.
  4. I am pleased as well. My inner sysadmin was getting all tense and nervous.
  5. Last I heard, they disabled that...(wanders off, double checks)...oh! They fixed it! I mean, they added that feature. Yes, that's exactly what I would do most of the time, to save 4g bandwidth. Huzzah -- thanks for making me look that up. Admittedly, "last I heard" == "when they first introduced the mobile app".
  6. Yeezh, lens flare much? Kidding, obviously the blackout is worse than the photography...
  7. Shelly -- no idea, sorry. Brent -- yup, even then, but the corresponding equivalent plan really isn't that bad -- it's the same amount of money ($30) for 2GB/month + $10/1GB over, or $50 for 5GB/month. So if I do 4GB one month, I break even; if I do 3GB one month, I saved $10; if I do 2GB one month, I saved $20; if I do 5GB one month, I wasted $10 that month, so even if I do go over 4GB by 1 or 2 GB every 6 months or so, I still break even or make out ahead, compared to their other current plans. Obvious: does not compare to my current unlimited plan, but at less than 1GB/month, I'm hoping that they're correct regarding usage -- that I shouldn't increase that much, just by using Spotify. I still need to try to figure out how to preload Spotify via wireless for offline mode, even that would save me a bundle.
  8. Hawt. I like the pink accessorizing.
  9. I hate you. I barely use an average of 0.15 GB/month, even though I have unlimited, but that doesn't exist on VZW any more, so if I get a new phone legitimately (haven't ruled out the illegitimate problem), I definitely have to give up my unlimited data, and if I get a new phone, I will almost definitely get one that can do Spotify, so I'll probably go well higher, and that's without additional devices like an iPad or a Nexus 10 and/or tethering.
  10. I like the way you think. Except I kind of need a new phone, also.
  11. I'm hungry. I bought a lot of "power out" provisions, but didn't get any frozen dinners or anything. Damn, that sucks, dude. Well, you could always shoot something.
  12. Wow, good call on looking into that. And to be clear, they really are the corresponding floor stander version, designed by the same guy, with the same curved non-boxy cabinet and driver complement. And with 3 woofers each. And having owned Pioneer for decades before I got into high-end audio, I kind of like Pioneer.
  13. "...Samsung’s Exynos™ 1.6 GHz quad-core processor..." vs. Up To "...1.7 GHz Quad-core Krait..." 1280x720 vs. 1280x768 Hmmm... But the LTE may be a deciding factor, if it were me instead of Brent. But I'm more likely to keep looking for a comparable or slightly weaker CPU in favor of moar pixelses. 'cause I'm a real estate whore.
  14. "Fuck me, penguins!" -or- "They told me, 'you can't go there, it's Penguin Country'." -or- "I hate penguins." -or- c.
  15. Another choice
  16. So far, so good -- still have power, no broken windows, really glad I live on a top floor right now WRT flooding.
  17. Damnit, I've been misled.
  18. Steve Hackett & co. (including someone whom I am friends with on Facebook, Dave Kerzner (?sp) -- who also does some killer sushi. Let's see -- mad keyboard skills, plays with my heroes, and can make sushi -- yeah, I'm jealous), Genesis Revisited II Love some of the choices, even played some vintage Steve Hackett (Tower Struck Down, Shadow of the Hierophant -- the latter, in particular, pleases me because ( a ) one of mah personal favourites, and ( b ) I was at a concert where one particularly boisterous fan kept demanding it, and Steve [yes, I am on a first-name basis] finally responded, "can't, don't have a soprano" [or something to that effect], to which the boisterous -- and very male -- fan responded, "I'll do it" and promptly launched into the first line in falsetto -- and might I say, note-perfect -- and I have to wonder if that very memorable incident prompted this revisit).
  19. Good to hear. The army's not in charge of weather?
  20. I don't blame Colin, but he got out just in time -- I want to know how he knew. EDIT: Oh, and my sister just let me know she's moving tomorrow. "No big deal, I'll 'rough' it." I just sent her a horrific text of everything we're expecting tomorrow ending with "...I'd postpone..."
  21. Nice use of mint green to make the sound seem antiseptic. The frequency plots look warm, however.
  22. Because biamping is moar bettah?
  23. Active -- before the amplifier -- in this case, would have been done in the digital realm Passive -- after the amplifier Non active -- passive
  24. Mr. Cat I need to get me an electric piano. And finish learning bass. And be good at writing catchy shit.
