  1. Thank you, Todd.
  2. Did I forget Spaced? Yeah, I definitely have to add Spaced. Was going to make the techno phone ring my ringtone for a while. Also: Archer.
  3. Well, no, I took it as a fundraiser -- I mean, they will raise some money, won't they?
  4. Condolences, dude. I'm glad you still have the others, that will help. But having it happen like that without warning is tough.
  5. This is all kinds of wonderful, particularly her covers of "Mother's Talk" and "A Criminal Mind", but I really like everything, including the single for "The Art of War".
  6. Yes. And seconds would be called Off Beats.
  7. That's fantastic.
  8. Great retardation, why would you steal Beatses?
  9. I think you're making up rules -- no-one said the episodes had to air. So shows like Action! (with Jay Mohr) that were cancelled after only a few episodes that already had an entire season in the can, they still count. I should probably add that to my list -- that was a great show. Sure, it deteriorated late in the season (nothing could match the brilliance of the first couple episodes, though the "nude scene" episode was awesome, and the NDE episode was great and...and...and...), but it had great moments all the way up until the very end. So: no bad episodes.
  10. That's funny, they were just in Stereophile or Absolute Sound -- are you sure it's that bad? They certainly learned their lessons from Vapour Trails on Snakes & Arrows -- although it was compressed, it wasn't brickwalled, it was just compressed. Which is appropriate for a rock & roll record, IMHO.
  11. So you've just identified the next Google software that Apple will drop from their iOS... (They just announced that they're dropping YouTube.)
  12. We're playing with ourselves?
  13. Wait, you want multiple nodes to be able to play into the distribution system? I think your big problem is going to be the software -- not sure how it handles being dynamically played into "collaboratively", I.E. the resource contention problem (you only ever want one person to be able to play into it at a time, neh?). Basically, the play device isn't going to matter, so you could probably get away with iPads, iTouches, laptops, ultrabooks, netbooks, etc. Playback is entirely different and well-formed at this point -- Roku, Squeezebox, etc. all have plenty of such devices.
  14. Unholy carp, those are real.
  15. Yeah, I have to add Black Books to my list.
  16. Me, personally, I think it's crucial. I tuned my Sunfire Jr. by hand...er...by ear, rather... when trying to integrate it with my Spendor S3/5's. I really want that again.
  17. I thought the JH13pro was active...?
  18. Actually, even though Dollhouse had better episodes and worse episodes, I would hardly say any of them were 'bad', so I'll stand by ... well, everything Whedon has ever done: Buffy Angel Firefly Dollhouse Fawlty Towers Twilight Zones (not just the original series, I like prety much anything put out under this name) Outer Limits (ditto) At this point I should add my qualification: notice, they did not say, 'mediocre'. They said, out and out, 'bad'. That said, I'm not sure I've seen any other shows in their entirety. Saturday morning cartoons, perhaps? Batman Castle (yes, it's just a procedural, but damn, it's the best procedural I've ever seen) Driftwood Veronica Mars Mongrels Archer Deadwood Sports Night Liquid Television (yes, really) Aeon Flux (technically, not its own show) Beast Wars Backyardigans (what can I say? I love childrens' television and movies) Reboot Pee Wee Herman's Playhouse (yes, really -- stands on its own) ...which puts me in mind of: I'm surprised no-one has said Six Feet Under yet. (haven't seen it, myself)
  19. Tritters. I missed this thread due to be being on sabbatical when it was posted. Please do post moar impreshunz.
  20. Just post it, dude.
  21. Happy Birthday! (party favour noise)
  22. Wind made of dust.
  23. Not that I know of. There used to be one in Tysons Corner that I would hang out in, but then he let me listen to one of his installs, and it was that stupid ghetto bass sound that we all know and hate. I never went back. I'm sure he could do an adequate job of installing (I did not hear any rattles, and the custom enclosures were seamless looking, including a custom enclosure for an additional component that did not have a place on the dashboard, so he did good work, mechanical-wise), if I stayed on top of him to do an audiophile install as opposed to a ... uh ... whatever the word is for those other guys -- "competition" install? -- ...but not sure I wanted to stay on top of him. Yeah, good point on deciding what I want to accomplish and how much I want to spend. It is already an older car, so I'm hesitant to sink too much into it, which puts me in a bit of a dilemma. What I would love is to recreate the sound of my Suzuki before I blew the amp. That's still the best car sound I've ever heard. And all it was was the factory upgrade stereo OEMed from Clarion that was custom made to the car. Tweeters up top, door mids, and a sub under the seat. All electronics were in the head unit (including the crossover), except I think the sub was powered. I'll look at Parts Express -- totally forgot about the fact that they carry car audio. I have a recommendation request in to Crutchfield. His initial response was the same thing you said, that there are no custom under-the-seat sub enclosures for the Lancer, which is what I expected. His initial suggestions: Infinity speakers Sound Ordnance sub
  24. I don't remember working on it. For those of you watched the precursor video, you know how they said they couldn't actually land on the rocket jets, because they would raise too large a dust cloud, and too much of it might settle back on the rover? I'm thinking that's what happened to the lens. I'm thinking, "I sure hope they came up with some sort of way to clean the lens, because there is still going to be a lot of dust backlash."
