  1. "Uncle Acid & the Deadbeats"? Never heard of them. What kind of music? I'm presuming there's at least a bit of a psychedelic influence (which to me is a good thing).
  2. Incorrect. Deftones do indeed often get lumped in with Korn, Limp Bizquik, et al, but they are not nu-metal. They are head & shoulders above. #1 - they don't do the rap thing. #2 - they have a bit of a gothy influence.
  3. Deftones, Diamond Eyes and Saturday Night Wrist -- I hadn't heard them do Ghosts (Japan cover) before. Me likey.
  4. That can get really annoying. Hope you get power back soon, Knucks. So you're using up your battery life on us? Wow, man, thanks for the dedication.
  5. As do I. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=__aiKNPgKn8 It's like "Where the Hell is Matt?" except ( 1 ) in Russia, and ( 2 ) air crabcore.
  6. Linkin. Fucking. Park. Living Things
  7. Studied for tomorrow's technical phone interview with Google. Decided I wasn't anywhere near ready -- postponed. Grrr...
  8. Those make-a-wish foundation people really know how to deliver.
  9. That looks like a meat lover's paradise.
  10. I can't decide of WC Olo Garb is demented mad genius, or demented mad schizophrenic diagnosably needs medication -- I submit the entire video, but for those of you who don't have the patience to watch the whole thing (presumably those of us who are either ( a ) fascinated by dementia, or ( b ) really into synthesizers -- this is, after all, a 30 minute [!] synthesizer demo), check out the sequence from 9:23 to 11:13: EDIT: Srsly, WTF?!?
  11. Oh. Fuck. Yeah. Oh Land is working with Tricky.
  12. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1b8W1tFFs3M This is funny as shit: Attack of the Show's Candace Bailey goes for a ride The laughs start at 2:27, but this is about cars, so you guys are going to watch the whole thing.
  13. Good luck with that. There's a reason I'm not in showbiz. Oh, hey, so that means the mother of your DJ friend since it's their sister, yah? Make them run interference if her wrath turns on you.
  14. Really? Oh, you mean REAL DIYers...
  15. It's called "post-rock", which has a strong legacy in the alternative pop-rock world, but you know, 'alternative' is so vague... I do like the "angel voices" analogy, though. I haven't heard the new one, but of the previous, () is still my favourite.
  16. Filling in for knucks a little bit:
  17. This is outstanding. Techno-thriller, with classic Stephenson humour, but not done ridiculously -- more humanly, like Whedon -- the characters have a sense of humour, and that's where it manifests, in their thoughts, words, actions, etc.
  18. Yeah, I need to go back and listen to that again, that was outstanding.
  19. Lollers. If he danced he'd be just a blur. Or just let us know a bit more in advance.
  20. Sweet, hopefully you are still DJing -- this may be the first time I caught it in time. Listening now.
  21. You know, I didn't think of this until just now, but yesterday was the 4th -- I wonder if there was a virus that I missed? I hope not, I'd feel really stupid if I was taken by one of those things. That said, I think it really was the hard drive, because the drive I was using was a "smart" drive, and was reporting imminent failure before it actually failed. But that said, I could see a virus spinning a disk to death.
  22. OMG, the condom flowers are awesome! I know what I want for my next floral arrangement/centerpiece. Also, the prevaids poster is mesmerizing. Going to their site... Oh. My.
