  1. No, it was set in the 1800's (I.E. correctly).
  2. What about AKG (K240MkII or K271MkII or whatever the appropriate corresponding headphone is) or Audio-Technica (ditters)? I know you don't like Sony's (I can still picture you grimacing and saying something to the effect of, "shrill"), so I won't even ask...but MDR-7506/-V6 are still my goto headphone for US$100 range.
  3. Happy Birthday, Crappy! (party favour noise) Nice, I'm picturing Gene Wilder.
  4. What are you driving the K1K with, Leonardo? They benefit from a speaker amp -- sure, there are a lot of headphone amps that can drive them, but there are also plenty that can't. If you have a decent speaker amp (without too much gain, that is), try that.
  5. I'll read their blog post later, but...is this Adobe saying (makes stomping on the ground motions) to a large target market (mobile players), or have they already been rendered largely moot?
  6. Correct.
  7. Lollers. Did you watch both movies? ('both', or are there more?) Knucks -- Oh my, yes. I love watching people who know how to move. That was outstanding. The only thing I hate about dubstep is the complete overuse of that one sound. I distinctly remember reading an article in Keyboard magazine many decades ago, that started something like, "It's The Fantasy. We've all had it. The lights go down, a single spot goes to the keyboard. We step into it. We extend one finger and press one key, and that sound comes out -- the preset to end all presets. We let it play, whatever it does, just enough of the sustain part of the loop, and then the release. The audience erupts with applause. One sound. We programmed it. It wins awards, critical accolades, women, contracts...". It's like whoever's playing those sounds honestly thinks it's that sound. Really? You obviously haven't played with the K2000 presets, then, because there's some weird shit there.
  8. Newman's Own unsalted pretzels.
  9. Good luck, I hate people like that.
  10. So why is Abraham van Helsing without the mortality weakness/immortality strength? Is that on purpose or just a slip? Also: lollers on the last column.
  11. Zombi -- great synthy proggy goodness. With live drums and some Mellotron and some other stuff, occasionally, but all instrumental.
  12. Well...by sweet, I mean relatively. I'm looking forward to a 9-to-5 job, so anything that avoids the Springfield mixing bowl is "sweet".
  13. I've looked at maps -- Reston would be a sweet commute, I would avoid the beltway altogether -- PM sent.
  14. Vinyl on sale at Fab.com There's actually some good shit in there, don't know how good the prices are.
  15. Well they're definitely not moving now. If someone is in the market, they should point out to the seller that that's what Koss is selling them for right now for new, warranty, etc. At worst, you've let him know how steep his competition is, and he can take them off the market until later.
  16. "Hey, have you seen...?" "Yeah, we've crossed paths."
  17. Appreesh on the couch offer. And no, I didn't know that. :\
  18. I felt like I was on the phone all day. 2 phone interviews, and one networking/catching up with an old friend that happened to contract Lyme disease. Yeezh. At least, both of the phone interviews went well. The downside is, Google doesn't currently have anything in the DC or Reston, VA offices, so it looks like Mountain View if I go that route. Possibly Boulder, but most probably Mountain View.
  19. Happy Birthday! (party favour noise)
  20. Now they need to teach it Rock-paper-scissors-lizard-spock.
  21. Happy Birthday! (party favour noise)
  22. Understood, appreciate the input. I'm still thinking that I should learn at least something in the field so that I can say I know it.
  23. That is a thing of beauty. I love Burial; I usually hate dubstep, but that was quite tolerable due to the omission of the one cliche' of dubstep that I hate (you know what it is -- "that sound"); I love watching dancers that know how to move; I love slow motion abuse; I love math.
  24. Yeah, wish I had taken some free Simulink classes from Matlab when I had the chance. I wonder if I can still take those...
  25. Yeezh. Here's to hoping the fires get put out soon!
