  1. You've earned it! (And I mean that in the positive way.) Nice post.
  2. At Justin's right now, listening to his Acoustats. Wow, nice! Sent from mah Droid
  3. (makes a mental note to use that line the next time he sees a MILF at a yard sale)
  4. I tried the Renacer (I called it Punto Final) -- don't remember it, will revisit it.
  5. Perhaps she, herself, made the edit, as the edit timeouts have gone the way of...other 20th century things. Me: Some wine -- and a Raison d'Extra -- my first. I only bought one. The lady behind the counter said, "now you'll get to learn my tastes, because I like this" (we were talking about wine, mostly).
  6. Not a goddamn thing (other than get an oil change for my car) -- it was lovely. EDIT: No, I forgot -- I did play a game of Scrabble with my ex -- and I won, for a change!
  7. Finished Deadline -- in some ways, better than Feed. You know, one of the other things that she does well is that breathless things-never-stop quality. Sorta like D.O.A. And I should mention -- the Whedonisms make sense after my second trip to Oakland/San Francisco -- I discovered while I was out there that she contributed to a book called Whedonistas -- women writers inspired in one way or another by Whedon. No shit. I can think of worse influences to have. She's easily my favorite new discovery -- yes, more than Richard K. Morgan. Started Cheat the Grave, Vicki Pettersson.
  8. Weyerbacher Sixteen -- outstanding earlier: Flying Fish Exit 4 -- a little hoppy, but not intolerably so
  9. I got nuthin'. Although I am a big fan of Musical (In)Fidelity, I have been underwhelmed by anything other than highest end of their DACs in recent years (their X-tubes series being an exception). I was extremely disappointed to find out that a lot of them are topped out at 48kHz. I'd go for the Grace Design, but I suspect you need to find something that's actually considered to be sold by amazon, rather than an external website. Benchmark is certainly decent.
  10. Day care? I crack me up.
  11. No worries -- I have no lackeys, anyway. So they're safe. By being non-existent.
  12. I think having any predictable frequency at all is kind of useless. I'd grow numb to it. Or shut the script off. Mr. Slightly Less Ridiculous Man.
  13. I think your frequency is painfully too frequent, Mr. ridiculous man.
  14. Yeah, I know that. But thanks for saying it loud, it certainly doesn't hurt to remind me.
  15. (now playing in my head, Robert Plant's Tall Cool One)
  16. Fought with AutoIt & Windows Virtual PC -- this is ridiculous. When I have AutoIt try to launch a virtual PC, it says, "Windows cannot find 'C:\Windows\system32\VMWindow.exe', please check your typing and dial again..." If I try to launch the .vmcx file directly (hoping for automatic application association), it throws up the "please pick an application to be associated with this file type" dialog, and if I try to drill down to C:\Windows\system32, it's not there, and neither is vpc.exe, VPCSettings.exe nor VPCWizard.exe. It's like I'm in a parallel universe, with the one thing I need, missing -- I.E. hell. Anyone familiar with Windows7 enough to explain to me what's going on? I know they do a lot of things with these dynamic libraries that look like folders, but...really? WTFH?
  17. I would definitely view that as unpleasant if they were John-Grado forward. I like the HP-2's or -3's that I have because they're neutral, not forward. That said, I still may have to get the procedure, since mine are wonky.
  18. There are drinks in that picture?!?!?
  19. Chicken kabob from Moby Dick's.
  20. I thought it did? It used to be required (in Maryland, anyway) when you bought the house. Also: nice.
  21. She kinda looks like Gemma Arterton. In the face, that is. I have no idea whose ass hers resembles. Oh, and: Fuck you, kid, just fuck you:
  22. Finca Roja malbec last night -- not bad.
  23. Love the subterranean bass that starts playing at 0:21. I'm going to dissect the MIDI and see if I can get an actual song out of this, but it's pretty fucking catchy as it is.
  24. Get a surround sound pre-processor (or a receiver that has separately mutable speaker outs and pre outs -- I.E. the ability to mute the speakers, without muting the pre outs -- receivers are usually a lot less expensive). Set it up for 4.0 -- I.E. no subwoofer, full range to all channels, and a phantom center that gets mixed in equal proportions to the front left and right. Oh, and: noice!
