  1. I don't know -- this one was subtler, but the editing in the other one was better. I guess it depends on whether you prefer tragic drama or horror. On the other hand, whichever you prefer, it's called BEING AWSUM.
  2. Wait, what? So we would need to somehow get the signal converted to S/PDIF without losing resolution if we wanted full resolution of, for example, our HDTracks and Linn records purchases (and needledrops)? I think Monkey's question wasn't really answered -- if my understanding was correct, the amp does the crossover, the correction, and EQ, but the controls are in the computer, so the computer "tells" the JH3A what to do, and then you can disconnect it. Not sure if the JH3A has any controls on it at all. Is this still the case? Looking at the JH3A page(s), it looks like it has digitally controlled volume and bass boost controls.
  3. (tries to think of some clever pan-&-scan vs. widescreen reference, comes up short)
  4. Well, they didn't do nuthin' for me, so...lpppt. Me:
  5. Underworld, Second Toughest of the Infants -- something superlatively sublime about opening with quite possibly their most epic "Juanita"/"Kiteless"/"To Dream of Love".
  6. Lo Tengo malbec. With a 3D label. [Keanu Reeves]Whoa.[/Keanu Reeves] Cheers, all. Agreed.
  7. (wiggles eyebrows, snickers)
  8. You're so cute when you're sad.
  9. And if your real estate is underground: MineMine. You mean, sort of like the new Air? No wait, because that doesn't exist.
  10. It's called, "being awsum".
  11. I really think he missed an opportunity to call it CloudMine. I'm going to start a competing computer company (to all of Microsoft Windowses, Apple, and linux), and I'm going to name all the apps ___Mine. In fact, fuck the operating system, I'm just going to start calling everything mine. My cats are no longer cats, they are FelinesMine. Real estate is LandMine. Car? TransportMine. Stereo? MusicMine. Wife? ConcubineMine.
  12. The Wharfedales are definitely worth a shot -- I've heard good things about them, though no experience myself.
  13. Earlier was listening to Rewiring Genesis: A Tribute to The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway -- some very interesting choices here, despite being mostly a very faithful re-recording/cover version of the entire album. Then Within Temptation, The Unforgiving -- my favorite track is definitely "Iron", although I really like several of the tracks that follow it. I think "Stairway to the Skies" & "Sinéad" might be vying for second place.
  14. my grandmother used to try a completely different approach to home remedies -- she would basically put the system into overdrive, which sort of forced the body to work itself out. For example, if you had too much acid in your stomach, she would feed you a grapefruit, forcing the stomach to stop generating acid. Anyway, just sayin' -- if the milk doesn't help. And: sympathies.
  15. Layer Cake Malbec -- despite it's non-earthiness (which I have come to crave), it is one of the better "jammy" malbecs
  16. Here's to hoping she sees a good one -- there's some crap out there right now. Or at least she enjoys it, don't tell her I said said that if she enjoyed the movie. And nice of you to babysit. I know, I know, you love spending time with your kids -- I'm sure your wife still appreciates it.
  17. Don't know if anyone's posted it, but yeah, I saw that one. If I was made of money, I'd buy that whole series: ...well, alright, maybe not the whole series, maybe just the low contrast parts. For those who like more contrast, there are a couple others: I am, however, drooling over a couple others I've seen lately:
  18. Welcome to head-case, sorry about your thin skin (we haven't used that greeting in a while, thought I'd welcome someone who actually seems welcome by a few of the locals). And that's just the way we like it.
  19. Familiar with that. My tolerance for pain has gone up, though -- when I was a kid, it would put me off from wearing watches at all, but now I'll wear practically anything.
  20. Cyriak does a music video! 's'awsum.
  21. It is my understanding that Zins go well with Chinese food -- worth trying, if nothing else. Even the cheesy names (7 Deadly Zins, etc.) are supposed to be pretty good. Me: Bashah Earlier: Gordon Biersch alt, and a sip of their Maibock, a couple glasses of wine with lunch.
  22. I got nothing, but do please report on your results, I would most definitely follow suit.
