    Holy shit.
  2. Peter Gabriel concerts are some of the most entertaining I've ever been.
  3. Ah, maybe that's what it is. I have to admit, I wasn't very scientifical about my observations.
  4. Doesn't it usually skip a generation? I.E. these kids will grow up to be conservative/domesticated/whatever you want to call it, and then their kids will be all corpse paint and blood?
  5. But...but...but...I am taking Carlson's. And now I can't find the statement that says not to put it in the fridge. Bizarre. EPA 360; DHA 250 / two, I've been taking one in the morning, one in the evening, but have been substituting the fish oil for one of them until I finish that bottle: EPA 300; DHA 200 / one.
  6. Alberti 154 Malbec -- this is superb.
  7. I think it's the baby equivalent of the British drinking their tea with their pinky extended -- it's just an affectation, doesn't mean anything. Either that, or the middle fingers taste better than the outer fingers.
  8. Cutest thing evar! Since the last 'cutest thing evar'.
  9. Holy shit, that looks good.
  10. Belts, and pre-ordered the new Kelley Armstrong novel, Spell Bound, for when it comes out in a couple weeks. EDIT: Change "Belts" to "A belt" -- they had to cancel part of my order due to it being out of stock. PS While I was in my Amazon account, I checked on the status of Deadline, and it got moved back to Friday, for some reason -- not the book, just my particular shipment of it. I got the same title for someone else at the same time, and they already got theirs last Saturday. Grrr...! I would have already started reading it by now, I deliberately haven't started reading anything else yet, in anticipation of this.
  11. Underworld, Dubnobasswithmyheadman, which I always want to spell, ...mon Those of you who know, know. I don't need to say.
  12. I've been taking that in gelcap form lately. Mostly because it was the only one that was available in the small size when I was in California -- I usually do the salmon oil gelcap from the same brand. Mine says to keep it in a cool dry place, but explicitly not in the refridgerator -- any idea why?
  13. Jacob -- back when I lived in College Park, something similar happened to me. When I went outside for a run, I found out that it was significantly cooler outside, and not only was the a/c not working, but it was actually heating the apartment up. My point: you may want to check outside. Maybe you ought to stay in the basement tonight?
  14. Vicki -- yeezh. Jacob -- yeezh. New, "glam" lizard species discovered.
  15. You mean the gun/cat, your avatar? Or was it slightly different?
  16. Faux-rizona -- why do you taste so good? You taste just like chocolate milk sometimes, and yet you don't look like chocolate milk.
  17. "Double feature."
  18. That's nothing. I kind of wish someone would do a similar video of the one outside my office (Wilson Blvd & N Lynn St), but I'll fully admit I'd probably be on it (aggressive yield and failure to yield). One of the problems is, if you're heading North on N Lynn St and making a right onto Wilson Blvd, there's no good time to actually perform the turn -- when you have the green light, the pedestrians walking along N Lynn crossing Wilson have the walk signal, and there's hardly ever a break in the foot traffic (they get the walk signal before the light turns green, and they'll be more than happy to finish crossing if they entered the intersection when the walk signal told them they only had one second remaining); when you have the red light, the pedestrians crossing your path traveling along Wilson crossing N Lynn have the right of way, and on top of that, you can't see oncoming traffic from up Wilson. Plus, people will cross Wilson if they don't see cars coming, even though it's against the light. And there are taxis, buses, and delivery trucks stopped right on that corner all the time, so it's hard to tell if someone is pulled over because they're actually stopped, or if they're trying to make the turn, so if you're too laid back about it, there's the danger of someone trying to go around you and cutting you off from making the turn that way. I'll go out of my way so that I don't have to make that turn, but when you're coming in from 50, there's no good way to avoid it, and when I come in to work from GW Parkway -- which is what I do when I'm coming straight in to work -- that's the way to come in. Although there appeared to be a lot more cyclists in NY than I think I see in the DC area.
  19. HawGarBarZa Start with Hawaiian pizza (ham and pineapple) -- substitute barbecue chicken for the ham; add roasted garlic (in this case, zpizza offer it as one of their sauces) -- voila, you have my new favorite pizza. That said -- Gordon Biersch did an outstanding version of it the other day -- probably my favorite yet.
  20. I don't know -- this one was subtler, but the editing in the other one was better. I guess it depends on whether you prefer tragic drama or horror. On the other hand, whichever you prefer, it's called BEING AWSUM.
  21. Wait, what? So we would need to somehow get the signal converted to S/PDIF without losing resolution if we wanted full resolution of, for example, our HDTracks and Linn records purchases (and needledrops)? I think Monkey's question wasn't really answered -- if my understanding was correct, the amp does the crossover, the correction, and EQ, but the controls are in the computer, so the computer "tells" the JH3A what to do, and then you can disconnect it. Not sure if the JH3A has any controls on it at all. Is this still the case? Looking at the JH3A page(s), it looks like it has digitally controlled volume and bass boost controls.
