What are you listening to Part the Third
MLOR sounds more like a Pink Floyd album than Final Cut does, though. I mean, if you've heard David Gilmour's solo albums, it doesn't sound like a David Gilmour solo album. It sounds like a Pink Floyd album. It was David Gilmour in full Pink Floyd mode, so I don't have a problem with it being sold that way. I mean, if you didn't follow the proceedings, I'm not sure you'd be able to tell.

Oh yeah, my commute is not going to suck tonight: I should mention why I posted this: the image of a hay truck on fire barreling down 66, like a redneck Ghost Rider.

USB -> SPDIF 24/96+ units
Ayre Acoustics QB-9. There's plenty of others -- google "USB DAC balanced", click shopping, then click <US$250, then change 250 to 300. Of the ones I'm seeing, I'd go with the Alesis IO2. The Lexicon was thought of pretty highly in its day, but its day was more than a couple years ago at this point, so I don't know if it'd still compare. I think it might.

Yeah, best rock instrumental performance for that year or something. I actually really adore A Momentary Lapse of Reason. You should revisit that one as well.

Marooned is awesome, it didn't win the Grammy for nothing.

You sure you want to compost indoors? Kidding... Me -- ate good food, drank good drink, and watched good movies -- pretty much an all-around win of a day. And with Justin. It was nice. Justin -- it's too bad you didn't join us for 901 -- everything there was outstanding all over again. Just cannot recommend it enough.

Post what you're watching
This might be my favorite video ever. Amusing concept, executed self-deprecatingly humorously.

Still my favorite album by them -- good call.

By 'indigenous', I meant, 'made locally from local crops'. If that was the incorrect use of the word, I apologize. And yes, I realize not all rums you find in Hawaii will be made locally, so I stand corrected on that use of the term as well.

I've had the TNT before -- it's bizarre, and worth trying. Not just complex, but outright confusing. Like being attacked by a trio of taste ninjas. Or a quartet. Possibly a pentet. Not sure (has anyone ever counted the number of ninjas they're being attacked by?). EDIT: Or, you know, dispatched them, or been dispatched by them.

Last night -- alternated between the two La Posta malbecs -- as Jacob predicted, both are excellent. The Angel Paulucci is on the jammier, sweeter, fruitier side -- but still well within my tolerance -- and the Pizzella Family is on the earthier and sometimes spicier side, so of course I prefer the latter.

Mai Tais are the drink of choice there, and rum is the indigenous liquor, so you should be fine. Oh, you mean, should you smuggle some out...no, you should drink it all there.

And now what did you do TODAY?
Had lunch with Dan -- that was nice. Forgot to mention to Dan, so I'll say it publicy -- finally tried the alt beer you gave me -- it was awesome! I actually think I liked it better than the Gordon Biersch one. And yes, it was still fizzy. As a matter of fact, I only got one glass out of it -- all the sediment had settled on the bottom, but as soon as I opened it, it started fizzing again. Kind of wish I had a second glass, I think I could have gotten more, but the fizzing stirred up the murk, so it ended up being undrinkable. Alas. The one glass was outstanding, though. Remind me to bring you your bottle back next time, I had it with me, forgot to give it to you. Please do feel free to get back into home brewing, I would endorse.

Leaves' Eyes, Meredead -- wow, either I haven't been paying attention, or this is a real departure for them. Really strong Celtic feel, with a full on cover of Mike Oldfield's "To France": ...as well as other folkish instruments and influences. I'm kind of really liking it. Despite having doffed quite a bit of their goth leanings. Ya-rly, I know, right?
