I left you my phone number on HF. Give me a call when you want to get your stuff. It is safe and sound with me until then
  3. Indeed, the G08 is painfully crappy for how expensive it is.

No kidding, eh? I was trying to get eSata to work with a new drive, found a recent BIOS upgrade, and figured it might do the trick. No luck. The drive works just fine on my desktop system, though.

Shoot, still up, waiting to go to bed! I nearly bricked my laptop with a BIOS upgrade, and that sent me chasing my tail for a good hour!
  6. Here is what it looks like in the flesh:
  7. Depends on the size. I know we still have some L, XL, and I think 2XL left for sale at the meet.

I think they should be able to get you an extra night at the contracted rate.
  9. or at least just before them on Sunday, with 909!
  10. damn you beeeeeellly! we finish the last badges....and NOW you decide to come.... ...guess we're going to have to improvise... ...how's a crayon-drawn pretty princess badge do ya??? It's PRIIITTTTy? ahhhh....since you spent that much on the ticket, we'll have to cook up another badge, just for you!
  11. I am really happy with my Fujifilm F100fd. Relatively small, very fast, with nice, sharp output and is usable (IMO up to ISO1600, or 3200 in BW) in low-light. You can get it for around $150 after rebate whereas the replacement, F200EXR is $350-400.

I just blew into town as well...
  13. At least if you go by the lack of spelling and punctuation on his website
  14. I'm surprised that more people don't BYOM.

Yeah, Philippe's is definitely the better food of the so-called "landmarks" you often hear about. Though it is more of a night place for me:

There's one not far at all: from: 5701 W Century Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90045 to: 106 w manchester blvd, los angeles, ca - Google Maps

Seconded! This was by far my favorite tex-mex place when I was living out there. The fajitas are mandatory.
  18. This DAC was already something I knew I needed to check out, and Todd's review only confirms my initial suspicions.
  19. A bit better, IMO
  20. Mmmm....the HD800 is the only "must-listen" that comes to mind right now.
  21. Mine too. When they fit right. And when the cable connectors don't malfunction. And when the carbon fiber headband doesn't break.
  22. No kidding. The only item I'm aware of that is even comparable to the Pico Amp/DAC in price/performance is the Apogee Duet, which is only useful to about 6% of the population At $299, the Pico DAC is an absolute no-brainer, for those who can't blow $5k+ on a system.

You guys talkin' 'bout Ed's version, or the real McCoy?

Would anyone who doesn't/can't go post at HF like me to sign them up for table space?
