  1. And so it begins ...
  2. ipeng works well on my touch. Surprised Thrice didn't pipe up about it . The web interface continues to improve and actually works pretty well with version 7.4.x. Edit: Beaten by Monsieur GPH
  3. 64Gb wifi + 3g. Woot! Longer Wait. Booo!
  4. ^^^ This man is wise, listen closely.
  5. Happy Birthday Fitz, Hope you get some Britts, Unlike Krispy-Kreme, They won't give you the Shits.
  6. Congratulations Naaman. You will make a great father (and I really don't say that to everyone). So what cigars will be used to celebrate the birth?
  7. This was around 2000 - 2001 in my office at work: Alessandro MS-1 Creek OBH-11 with SE PSU Some Teac Mini CD Player on closeout (probably not this one) CAL Gamma DAC Still have the MS-1's and wish I still had the CAL Gamma. The Creek pretty much sucked as did the Teac's analog output.
  8. Yes I would. I currently have a $100 membership on Head-Fi and that provides minimal data. Also, if you had somebody with a university connection, maybe even in a biology department, you could look at various NIH grants.
  9. We are also looking at better efficiency water heaters. Right now it looks like we may be going with one of the Bosch on-demand gas heaters.
  10. Hmm, maybe it is time for a non-commercial entity to get out there and do some measurements then. Putting more varied expertise on this problem could be valuable.
  11. It's all puffery.
  12. Now who can argue with that?
  13. I still use my netbook quite a bit and will probably use it more now that I have a nice pared-down version of Win-7 on it. But my guess is the iPad will take over most of its duties except as music server since it now has a nice 640Gb drive in there. We'll see though. I am taking it down to SC next week and it will be the only machine I have for a week.
  14. Hope all goes well Nate and Knuckles.
  15. Screen: Yes if you need the real estate on the road, otherwise an external monitor kicks ass. Keyboard: Yes. Trackpad: Absolutely. Just depends how much the size affects your ability to actually use it when you need it the way you want to use it. Wow, that was pretty circular.
  16. A netbook should be able to do all of that unless you are doing a HD-video. The MBP may be overkill unless you are doing some significant number crunching with things like video editing and such. That being said there are those members of Team Massive Overkill that may disagree.
  17. I prefer Shakespeare myself, "And therefore as a stranger give it welcome. There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, Than are dreamt of in your philosophy." An open mind is a great companion for healthy scepticism, and vice-versa.
  18. Have a Happy Birthday, eejit.
  19. OK that may be fair about WM 7 as I have not tried it. As far as Windows 7 , yes the useability is better compared to Vista for almost everything, but not for the touchscreen specific parts, which is what worries me about courier.
  20. Egad. First True Grit and now Five-0. Bastards.
  21. Only in the store. I'll keep my Touch thankyou. WM7 is a better interface, but not for a tablet/pad. I have it installed on my ASUS touchscreen and it is faster than Vista, but that is the only improvement I have noticed as far as useability.
  22. No Apple Fan-Boy here but I must say Microsoft is certainly consistent with their interface design.
  23. What do you need either the netbook or MBP to be able to do?
  24. I also noticed that there was an intermittent rattle and "fuzziness" to the sound. This led me to coclude that there was also a slight loss of detail in the treble and lack of extension in the bass. After reading this thread it appears that may be a byproduct of the drivers not being glued in. Nevertheless, the RS-60's were extremely close in presentation compared to the MS-Pro. I noticed no differences in the soundstaging or headstaging between the two and other than the above the tonality was almost identical. This was using a GS-X and an AA HPA v.1.0 and always single-ended as the MS-Pros are single-ended.
