HD800? Another rumor?
One more graph from me. I'm puzzled by the varying scale of the x-axis in these individual graphs and the implied position of the 0dB point. I'd assumed it was supposed to be indicated by the very slightly thicker/darker gray line, but here the labeling certainly makes it look like that's +2dB and that the 6kHz peak is at or above +4dB. Poor printing? Poor interpretation on my part? These graphs were not, apparently, "crafted for perfection."

My MX Revolution has been fine. The Logitech Control Center software is a big bag of hurt on a Mac, though.

What are you listening to Part Two
Mojave 3 -- Out Of Tune So after the UK shoegazing scene blew up, the two guys and one girl from Slowdive left Berkshire and the wall of fuzz behind and started making incredible and (to me) deeply American records full of Hammond organ and pedal steel guitars and alt-country tropes. Did I mention they're incredible? This one is as sunny and hazy as the day on the cover.

- New DAC of interest...
John Marks really liked the Nova in the latest issue of Stereophile. Said it drove his Aerial 5Bs well (and they are just 85dB and 4 Ohms nominal) and the DAC section was excellent. One interesting tidbit, he tried very hard to spot the difference between S/PDIF input from a nice Luxman transport and USB input from his PC and could not do so.- I must be crazy. Any advice?
So, now what are you going to buy with all that money you just saved?- Berkeley Audio Design Alpha DAC
He's a bit of a twit, but probably no more so than most career audiophiles. TAS's ethical practices are by repute extremely shady though, even by the low standards of the hi-fi industry.- What are you listening to Part Two
I might have heard that. Not that keen on The Hazards Of Love so far. Feels a bit forced. But their stuff tends to grow on me. Donald Fagen -- The Nightfly- Grado HF-2 thread
This is good news. I should find some in my mailbox quite soon.- I must be crazy. Any advice?
The A5s are fine. Find a more rewarding outlet for the upgraditis, would be my advice.- Places I'd rather be than work
