The ER where I shadowed physicians had an equal number of both and other than the white coats they wore there was no way to tell one from the other. The ER chief is a DO as well. They mostly encouraged me to go the MD route not because of research opportunities but because of hiring biases by trustees or board of directors. In terms of practicing privelages they are both the same and I don't see a difference between them. Additional good news is that both agcme and aoa residencies will be accredited by the same entity starting in 2015. I am hoping that this will make matching easier for DO students as they won't have to take both the USMLE and COMLEX to apply. Residency programs will accept both. The only difference I can seem to find between the two is not as much research in DO and the additional osteopathic manipulation class which I'm not entirely sold on. I haven't met a single physician that practices it. I can see it theoretically working for musculoskeletal problems but I can't take claims of curing autism with manipulation seriously. While being given a tour of the facilities the manipulation lab professor remarked that he could tell I was having some pretty bad lower back pain from the way I was standing even though my facial expression indicated nothing. He asked me if I would volunteer for a demonstration and I agreed. He did something and I had instant relief. I can see the benefits extending to things like that but not curing genetic diseases. Given my age and financial obligations already, I think I will matriculate at the less expensive of the two schools if those are the only ones I get into. However I still have to wait for 3 more schools so no final decision yet. Thanks again guys it's been a good past few days.

My first ever attempt at ribs. The lowest temp I could get the grill to be was 325 so don't know how well they will turn out but they look pretty decent to me. Jacket potatoes in the back.

I saw that as well however, they mention this - "Before purchase, noise is overlaid on all transmissions longer than 10 minutes. Purchase a license key for just $25." That can get mighty annoying if I were trying to watch a movie/tv show.

optical cable is one i just got from blue jeans cable. no other dac either. i don't understand how the guy suggested i take it to the apple store. there is nothing to hook up the apple tv to. so no way to connect it to their wifi to even test the optical signal. don't know why i didn't think of that earlier. sd video in quicktime is the only media type that has no delay. 128kbps music has the delay so i don't think it is a locking issue.

anyone using an apple tv to feed music wirelessly to their rigs? right now the system is as follows. apple tv -> optical out -> ps audio dac -> headphone amp -> headphone. I didn't want to keep using the usb input as it forces me to be too close to the heater that is my amp. i purchased an apple tv thinking that for speakers it would be vital as i could play my computer stuff via speakers/headphones whenever i wanted to but have run in to a big fucking problem. when streaming audio to the apple tv, it delays audio by at least a second regardless of what i am using - safari (youtube/lectures from school/vimeo etc), iTunes, vlc, quicktime. given the lag, the first second of the song always gets dropped and watching movies/tv shows is pretty impossible. i was trying to watch on the macbook air but have audio come from the headphone amp. any thoughts? i called apple and both times the customer service people told me to sell the dac and buy a tv and use the tv speakers to listen to whatever i want to listen to... will take it into the apple store tomorrow to see if they are more help than these retards.
