  1. Chopin is my vodka of choice thanks to a recommendation from Jacob I believe. I find it to be substantially better than Grey Goose.
  2. There are certainly differences between grain and potato vodkas and I've tasted them. Now, whether or not I could taste the difference between well and premium grain I have no idea. I'd like to think I could as there certainly seems to be a difference when I drink a well drink compared to a decent one, but I'm not going to bother putting on a blindfold to see if I can.
  3. Peter, You don't need to ask for understanding - we all get it. Hang in there and try to take some small measure of comfort in the fact that clearly you've given this cat a wonderful life.
  4. The wireless upload is cool, but that's the only part that interests me and just cause I'm lazy.
  5. Yes, he's out there again this year. But CES doesn't technically start until tomorrow so I'm not sure how much you'll see on IF until tomorrow at the earliest.
  6. As a guy with paws instead of hands that looks like it would be rather difficult to handle.
  7. Al, Outlaw Audio (no slouch IMO) sells the SR5007 which is a pretty strong endorsement in my book. They used to sell the 7007 as well but list it as sold out now.
  8. Either chem, civil or mechanical really depending on what specialty of fluid dynamics you want to deal with. It was my least favorite civil engineering class.
  9. Have fun, guys and gal!
  10. Good catch, Shelly. I was taking Emotiva at their word. Odd that I swear there used to be a model #4 or some smaller # that was even cheaper but it doesn't show up on the website I'm looking at.
  11. Maybe other option to consider - http://shop.emotiva.com/collections/speakers/products/airmotiv5 - currently on sale for $200 off the normal price. Or go for the 6?
  12. Prob/stats maybe?
  13. I like where your head's at.
  14. Congrat Jacob! Step 1 - get into MBA program - check!
  15. I'd say you have your solution right there unless you think the soundbar is going to be superior to the monitors that you'd use...
  16. I'm surprised the TV doesn't have an analog set of outputs but a quick Google seems to confirm that it's digital only. Maybe that's a good indicator of how long it's been since I bought a TV...
  17. Jeff, If your shoes are ventilated (and they probably are) you'll want to get a pair of booties if you haven't already ordered them. My feet are the only thing that gets really cold when I ride in sub 50F temps. My hands, even with half-finger gloves are fine. My feet are ice cubes after about 45 minutes. Otherwise I don't use any dedicated cold weather gear. Just thermal underwear/multiple layers with a thin fleece beanie under my helmet. It's way too cold here to even think about a ride. It was 1F when I left for work this morning and topped out around 20.
  18. Would an Apple TV work as a D/A box? Then you could just go the Audio Engine route for the monitors. I have a hard time imagining powered monitors with a digital input as cheap.
  19. Happy Birthday!
  20. Happy Birthday Dan!
  21. And guys like Calfee will tell you the exact opposite, that they've got customers with 100k+ on bikes that still ride and feel like new. The truth is that there's probably as much variability in frame lifespan between manufacturers as there is cost (which is to say, lots) so maybe Cervelo takes that engineering approach but I don't think you can't paint the entirety of carbon frames with that brush. It would seem odd that most companies offer lifetime warranties on frames that if raced, would be shagged in a matter of a few years.
  22. Agreed Brent, that is a sweet ride.
  23. For mountain biking maybe, and that's a huge maybe based on impact loads and abuse. For road biking, I call bullshit. Maybe if this was two decades ago, but not today. Back it up with some facts, which I suspect will be very difficult if not impossible. As Chris said, Carbon has fewer fatigue problems compared to metals. And I snicker at what Jeff refers to as "low end".
  24. Woot, it's a day of good booze. I arrived home to find a bottle of this waiting... Thanks Vicki!
  25. ^ this, sorry man.
