Going to be a good time. I sort of wish I was going but I'm going to be getting my ass kicked in bike races instead
  5. Another set of wheels. Finally paid for my TT bike and got the fit dialed in: Pick it up this weekend (hopefully)
  6. Thanks for the pics. Welcome. The more island boys the better I'm from Barbados. Though I've never had dreads.... stupid user name but I've had it for years.
  7. Had to check that last one: 1 dead as car plows into bike race - Americas- msnbc.com
  8. Ah that makes sense (sort of). The amp they were plugged into looked cool though. I wish I had not gotten a slight migrane as the thing started, then I may have actually listened to stuff. It was good to just chat anyway.
  9. Sorry to hear that man. They are pretty bomb proof (other than the head band) so I hope you can get them spic and span again.
  10. As usual Tyll leads the charge to nudie pics...
  11. Lat night, my wife and I went to Kennedy Center to Washington National Opera's Porgy and Bess. I have no other productions to compare to but I thought it was excellent. Some of the atonal stuff at the beginning was a bit odd for me but overall I very much enjoyed it. Porgy in particular was excellent.
  12. I'm sure the other site has tons of photos of everything. I didn't listen to anything except stuff I'd heard before. Only thing I regret missing was the HE-5. My win of the meet was the re-cabled CD3000. My god what a huge cable.
  13. Yes congrats though I can't see what it is until I get out from behind the work firewall. Me: A bunch of bike shit including a replacement spoke for my Zipp 404s, I'm just lucky I didn't crack a rim on the ride this weekend.
  14. From my understanding at this point it's mostly cachet than anything else if you have more normal body proportions. For people with especially long torsos or legs or whatever then custom geometry is very useful. For example I could justfy a custom bike to let me run longer crank arms because my current crank arms while as long as the manufacturer can make aren't really long enough to cause my knee to flex enough. If I bought much longer ones there are chances of having them touch in corners. Therefore if I wanted longer ones I'd need a custom geometry, I've decided to skip it though since for a race bike it has to be easily replaceable at the drop of a hat. That said I want one because no one else will have one just like mine. I'll be buying one of these sometime this year: Custom fitted lightweight steel bicycle frames handbuilt by Kelly Bedford | kbcustoms I've talked to the builder and he will make it stiff and strong with custom geometry for less than I pay for my carbon fiber race frame but in the end it will still be a training bike because I want carbon for racing.
  15. Nice. Enjoy it man I got first of two new toys yesterday but my new TT bike wasn't put together yet.
  16. Go to bike shows, group rides, or bike forums. I spent a few fun hours here: NAHBS 2010 Pegoretti is sort of a "god" of hand built stuff along with Ellis who is a new younger god of hand built stuff. I will not buy either of them because I'm not willing to have more than 3 months lead time on a bike and to pay the premium but everyone I know with a Pegoretti is very happy.
  17. Got my federal tax return.... sweet sweet money
  18. Awesome. Custom geometry or standard? One of the guys I ride with has a Pegoretti and loves it. I'm going to byu a Kelly Bedford custom myself but probably not until the fall. My new bikes (Training and TT) arrive today and I'm a bit excited.... Especially for the carbon tubulars that come on the trainer bike.
  19. Godspeed. Thank you for serving
  20. My impression is that uln-2 is meant to be a mobile recording/monitoring device while the uln-8 is a studio/mastering ad/da, different tools for different uses.
  21. TT bikes for me and the wife, new saddle for the wife, u-haul hitch for Civic, hitch mount bike rack for civic.
  22. Got off the wait list for a race in picturesque Charlottesville VA. I expect my amplifier manufacturer to provide me with support....
  23. here this will likely work too: AMEP - Product Details
  24. Very true but it is significantly cheaper than the commercial one. Also those lenses were likely overkill, I found several in the $3 price range but they had a lot less center thickness which I thought might be important.
  25. I was saying for 1 but yes you are correct..
