  1. Well since you pulled out the science: it's been pretty conclusively been shown that for human endurance sports humid is slower because we need good heat management to perform over extended periods. Physiological effects overwhelm the physics. Edit: this post of course serves as further proof of my douchiness as confirmed a few pages back.
  2. http://www.nytimes.com/2013/07/07/automobiles/autoreviews/is-this-bmw-the-ultimate-maxiscooter.html?hpw&_r=0 Saw this and thought of this thread though I don't know if driving a BMW has as much cache in the gay dating game.
  3. Did another 14 miles today in the heat of the day (left house at 1:15 or so). Will try and get another ride in tomorrow afternoon before we head back home tomorrow night. Jeff, I sort of regret not bringing my Calfee. You should break yours out.
  4. Happy birthday!
  5. Great racing so far. Looking forward to tomorrow's stage.
  6. Happy birthday Mike!
  7. The weather took a turn for the better today and I got in a nice 28 miles (4 laps) of the lake. Awesome to be back out riding. I think I can get used to riding in the afternoon heat.
  8. Ritchey makes a pro -30 it looks like and it's in stock all over.
  9. Raffy what is the angle on the stem you are running now? Maybe you can get something with more negative angle to get you your drop.
  10. Yeah Battley race like real pros and are very cutthroat.
  11. Jeff those are great pics. The guy who got third is a really nice the dude.
  12. Congratulations!
  13. That race is organized by my club. Me: I got out for 50 minutes or so and managed only about 15 miles or so. Need to get out more.
  14. Happy birthday!
  15. Not on topic but these fill me with lust: http://derringercycles.com

  18. Mike, I'd say it is likely a pass based on what I see so far. You would likely need to put on a pretty short and negative angle stem to get the HB close to where they should be. Are you running any spacers etc now? Raffy I think the HT on my frame is 24cm I don't have my ordering spreadsheet with me. That said it's also a much larger frame.
  19. Happy belated birthday!
  20. What stem length do you run now mike?
  21. There was a good article on the various types of lubes and their effectiveness in Velo magazine. Here's a link to the preamble to the article but I may still have a copy at home I can scan. http://velonews.competitor.com/2013/02/bikes-and-tech/six-watts-from-lube-boulder-lab-separates-fact-from-friction-fiction_264446 The finding was though that parrafin wax was best though you do have to take the chain off and soak it in it. Of the ones that wasn't a giant PITA I believe Pedro's Ice Wax was one of the best. I use both Pedros Ice and Pro Gold. I guess I should just switch to only Pedros. Edit: You can also get it free here (though I think you have to make an account): http://www.friction-facts.com/test-results/free-reports/chain-lube-test
  22. RIP
  23. I guess I am a douche bag then because I use the term. I plan to continue to as well. Judge away.
  24. Man I really want to get back out on my bike. Not sure when that's going to happen though as Meaghan needs a hand with the kids in the mornings and it's hotter than Hades in the afternoons these days.
