Using foreign amps w/ voltage transformers to save on import cost
Just thinking if it also has a US version that isnt just a complete afterthought with a different transformer, it would probably make financial sense for them to just use a multiple primary transformer. Even if you have to change the power transformer, it still saves the cost of the extra case, outlets and wiring, not to mention the tendency to buy an even more overrated transformer.

You could also get it and before getting a 120:100v transformer, see if the amp can be modified to run off 120v directly. Might just be jumpers inside, might need a new power transformer.

These measurements are of concern to me. I don't think I understand what you mean by musicality, as I have yet to hear a beyer I enjoyed listening to music on. FIFY x2

New heatgun. I didnt realize it until I was shopping around at amazon, but I bought my last one on 2/20/05. I figure if it could last 5 years with how I used it for $23 shipped, and had variable temperature on top of that, I couldnt hope for much better.

Stax amp with DC input instead of IEC?
Its called a horse, so go for it. Of course, I think that part of the way they advertised the cars was a cleaner alternative to messy horses.

Yeah, I am looking forward to it. He has this nice, dark East Indian (I think) rosewood for them. Still gotta send the O2 pads and cable though.

Very nice Al! The cable kinda reminds me of what Audeze used on the LCD1, hope it is thinner and more flexible than that.

Tool Recommendations Thread
Anyone here have a reasonably price heat gun they are happy with? Mine just died tonight, all of a sudden heard a grinding and a bit of a smell from it. Not upset, this thing has served me fairly well for a good several years now, but it is time to move on. Current one was made by Grizzly, had variable temperature which was nice, and two speed settings, the lower one of which is all I ever used. It did have a bit of a tendency to melt the plastic surrounding the nozzle, which was a pain. A few times it would get all the way to the point of sticking to the nozzle, and then would start smelling bad. Grizzly HO800

My meter is rated for 10M input impedance while measuring DCV, so that in parallel with the 10M resistor to ground in the bias circuit would give 5M. 600v through a 10M/5M divider should give 200v, which is what I measure when doing this. Also, the 300v figure is just from looking at the circuit (10M resistor to bias pin from ~600v rail, 10M||0.022uf from bias pin to ground.- Koss ESP/950 electrostat thread
Nope, all outputs measure under 1v offset.- What did you do today?
Thats pretty much how my PC is. - Koss ESP/950 electrostat thread
