  1. Congrats! I bought that watch but on a Ti bracelet a couple of years ago and really like it, but mine is all satin finish without the polished bezel. It only gained 48 seconds last year. I'd usually wear it golfing as it disappears on the wrist and seems to take the shocks well. Then my son wanted one too and he got your exact model with the leather strap, but they threw in a navy blue canvas Citizen signed strap with it. He's left it on the navy canvas strap since day one, and gave me the leather strap that he doesn't like.
  2. I like "Brownie" (because she looks like the creme cheese swirl brownies my wife makes, and we like to name animals after food, like Snickers for our Sheltie, and S'mores for our guinea pig R.I.P.)
  3. Personally, I love that watch on the bracelet. I've owned both the 38.5mm Skyfall AT and the 41mm Master Co-Axial blue version, and tried both with a leather strap and the bracelet just makes it POP! [On the other hand, the leather strap was the blue Hirsch heavy calf with white stitching that looks odd on my Rolex BLNR. And it was slightly too fat to fit the 19mm lugs on the Skyfall AT anyway, and then the bezel on the Rolex chewed up the end of the strap as well]
  4. Not bad, but I kinda prefer the jubilee bracelet.
  5. My understanding is the Omega Deployant is 18mm for the straps that are 20mm at the watch case (tapered strap).
  6. I've kept my posts short on this topic so that I wouldn't get reminded that this isn't head-fi. To add to this conversation, I LOVE THE HE-1000 and think they're much better sounding than I recall with some other high dollars phones (like the Abyss and my old SR-009 which I can't compare directly). I have been listening to speakers more these days, but when I want to listen with headphones the HE-1000 have been my go-to phones for the past month. I can't say that I'd get rid of my HD-800 to buy these, nor my HE-60, which have amazing out of head imaging and transparency. And I can't say that they work as well on all of my amps (neither do the HD-800 and HE-60). But when paired with the right gear they do impress. I'm still evaluating them and don't want to say more (I have to do more comparisons with my other planar magnetics, and I'm always too exhausted to mess around with this).
  7. The Explorer II is redundant, but nice collection.
  8. That's my favorite looking and most comfortable strap, but until I'm out of this wrist brace for carpal tunnel syndrome I have to use the milanese loop to wear the watch above my wrist brace.
  9. Wow, thank God you went to the ER! Some people put it off until it's too late. So you had only a carotid artery blockage and it was opened up, or also coronary artery? The first symptoms sounded like heart and the second day sounded like Carotid (neck artery to brain - good thing we have two of those). When I had symptoms like that my pastor took me to the ER because we had a new baby at home and my wife had to stay with the kids, but it turned out to just be my Fibrosing Mediastinitis rearing it's head and being diagnosed for the first time. MESSAGE TO OTHERS - DON'T DELAY, it can save a life.
  10. Hahahah, I bet the seller isn't too happy now when he writes back and you say, "too late, but thanks for all the fish".
  11. You just about said the same thing I did, in a sense. The "easy to flip" watches I'm talking about are ones that have a stable or increasing value due to demand. I had in fact also said "desirable high demand watches that appreciate" in my rough draft and shortened my post to avoid the TLDR complaints. I just don't part with the little-worn or expendable watches until I have a need to do so (to support myself or family).
  12. I like the way you think, you don't need us to be enablers. I too plan ahead for many months, and figure out where I'll be in the future, and how emergencies would affect my finances, and set up a plan for not being in debt for something like a watch, while still allowing me to enjoy the watch now. So, that includes contingency plans like buying a watch that would be easier to flip if I get into trouble later (or having other watches around that would also be easy to flip should I become attached to the new one). Usually I follow a rule of giving something up to pay for something new. I gave up 4 watches to get the BLNR and Hulk (which covered 75% of the cost of the two). But if I get into money trouble I can still part with my Planet Ocean 2500 or my mid 2000's Titanium Seamaster Pro chronograph, whose values have remained pretty stable over the last year. Since I have the newer models I don't really wear the older ones, but can't bring myself to part with the old ones unless I have to.
  13. I had the GMT II BLNR on the RubberB strap last week for a few days, but it's been back on the bracelet for the past 7 days. It's more comfortable on the rubber, and better looking on the bracelet, as usual. But the RubberB looks 10x better than the blue leather strap I tried the first week. Also, in 7.1 days the watch has only gained +0.1 second vs atomic time.
  14. I could give you a good deal on a 64GB iPad mini LTE (1st Gen) not because I want to sell, but to help you out. I'm keeping it otherwise.
  15. It's always, "the kids flushed a pair of underwear".
  16. Wow, so the water drained into the downstairs shower pan and didn't flow over? Good Luck there.
