  1. It seemed like just a few years ago that things seemed to work pretty well, stable, and seamless - compared to now.
  2. I'm still happy with my un-modded HD800 from the earliest batch in 2009 (picked up from Todd at CanJam), and a Locus-Design Hyperion Cable (or Moon-Audio Black Dragon).
  3. I'm still happy with my Audiocats modded SRM-001 Mk2 - as long as I use them with the headband and light insertion into my ear canals it sounds a lot like an SR-007 on a KGSS amp.
  4. I updated my Retina MBP to OS X 10.10.5 and iTunes 12.3.1.23 last night, as I'm waiting to see how El Capitan works out with the bugs, and iTunes decided it didn't want to work anymore. I'd get 100% CPU usage and constant spinning beachballs, to the point where I couldn't click on anything or scroll. Since I have backups, I wiped out my iTunes database and started fresh, and iTunes would work fine with just my online content showing (everything streams fine). So then I imported my music back into iTunes, and that worked too (go to iTunes media folder in finder and drag it onto the open iTunes window). The last step was to get my 1200 playlists back, which I use to separate MP3 versions of an album from ALAC versions, or group certain albums together for syncing. But, if I try to import my old playlists back into iTunes the trouble starts all over again. I even went back to 2 and 3 week old backups of my iTunes database, and I simply cannot import my playlists back into iTunes without it running like it's mired in molasses. I've lost 10 years of work fine tuning my playlists to quick and easy access. The only other way to get my playlists back would be to turn on iTunes match to download the ones that my iMac uploaded. Normally I only run iTunes match/iCloud Library on the iMac with 6TB external iTunes drive, so that my full music library and playlists are available on all of the apple TV's. Meanwhile, my MBP has a subset of my library to make it more manageable. I actually use my rMBP most for listening to my favorite music. Anyway, to get my playlists back onto the rMBP I tried turning on iTunes Match/iCloud Library on the MBP. Unfortunately that causes the same issue as importing my playlists back in via .xml file - crap. I've lost faith in Apple to get things right everytime, which they used to be able to do because they have control over everything. Apple's starting to really suck, and I really miss Steve Jobs. This is why I am not updating the iMac from Yosemite and the older iTunes for a while, and why my son insists on staying with OS X 10.9.5 Mavericks, instead of Yosemite. When it aint broke don't fix it, and I was happy just 24 hours ago till I allowed them to break it.
  5. Sorry I missed this, happy belated!
  6. That was my recommendation, and I bought a set with Mic for $99 a couple years back. Like them more than the RE-400, and I'm usually a huge HiFiMan Fan boy.
  7. You guys are VERY classy. Not a single "I'd hit that" in 12 hours.
  8. Okay, logged in and saw the etxra 5% off. Thanks.
  9. Now it's showing me $100 for $90 and $60 for $54.
  10. I had a 3PM reservation today to pick up my non-contract T-mobile 128GB 6s+ to use with my ATT SIM, but 5 minutes before it was my turn to pay I decided to get out of line and cancel. I did this last year and bought a T-Mo no-contract iPhone 6 to use my ATT SIM, since all the iPhone 6 were the same - but this time while in line I discovered that the new ATT 6s+ is different from the others carriers and includes LTE band 30, which is faster and being rolled out right now by ATT. Other than LTE band 30 they are identical. Since I'm happy with last year's phones, I figure I'll wait for a month or two until I can pick up an unlocked 6s+ with LTE band 30 - especially since I just bought an iPad Air 2 for myself and an iPad Mini 4 for my wife yesterday. It gives me time to spread out the costs.
  11. Yes, I think it gives a good impression. It's sized right for your wrist, and the best quartz to buy is one with a small 60 second sub-dial. I agree with Jacob, that you could simply brush the bracelet - use a jeweler/watchmaker or maybe if you're brave enough then do it yourself with a green scotchbrite pad. You could also consider a brushed shark mesh from Strapecode.
  12. Kinda. Basically, if you have it set as above and you take new photos on the iPhone, does the iPhone upload the high res photos to the cloud from the iPhone - or do you have to plug the phone into the computer and import them into Photos to get the full and unadulterated high res photos into your photo library? In contrast, I recall reading that if you use photostream to import the photos from iPhone into your Mac photo library that they are not as high res or detailed as if you were to directly connect the phone to the computer and import them.
  13. $30K hahahahah not right now thanks! (but it is cool) I have 200GB with iCloud, and saw they dropped it from $3.99/mo to $2.99/mo. I'm using 30GB for iCloud backups of 4 devices, and the remaining 169GB is enough for my 130GB Photos library if I choose to turn on iCloud photo library. So I wonder if I turn on iCloud photo library, will my camera roll be automatically uploaded in full resolution, but the the photos on my phone will be smaller thumbnail-like versions until I try to view them, at which point they'll be downloaded in high res? That might work for me. I ask because I also keep reading that photostream doesn't have the full original resolution photos stored on it, and so I don't know how the new iCloud photo library option will affect the resolution. I really think they should offer a 400-500GB iCloud for $4.99 though.
  14. Does iOS 9 allow you to set your 6s+ camera for less the 12mp or are people stuck with all their photos being even bigger and using more space than is needed for typical 5x7 prints or viewing on a 1080p TV? How good do we expect the low light performance to be? I passed on getting a 6s+ right away because the 6+ has been good enough, but I never thought the low light camera performance was a good as advertised. I want better low light photos and video, not more megapixels.
  15. I typically wait for the first update before updating to a new iOS. Is the 9.0 stable enough to not wait for 9.01 ??
  16. I'll see if I can search for one for Mac Safari. Thanks.
  17. Got an "Asian Dating" advertisement with the video. Are they trying to tell you something? I'm jealous because before my lung disease, fibromyalgia, and chronic tendonitis my wife an I did hikes and camp outs like that all the time here in Colorado. Then I could still do short hikes with an oxygen tank and a vicodin. But after the car accident last December I'm afraid those days are gone forever. On our honeymoon we did a hiking and backpacking trip trough the Canadian Rockies for 2 weeks, traveling east from Vancouver, through Jasper, Banf, Lake Louise, Waterton National Park, Glacier National Park, Jackson Hole and Yellowstone. I miss that.
  18. If it fits, I wonder if I should get one and have a grey PVD finish done to it?
