  1. I saw those online the other day on someone else's wrist. Looked cool.
  2. Nice. That beats my NOMOS ORION when it comes to German watches. Still, I can't wait for it to get here. In the meantime, I can't seem to peel the Grey Side of the Moon off my arm lately. I love it on the Dark Side strap now, making it a little more casual and sporty to suit my style better.
  3. I had my physical therapy re-eval today, and I'm definitely progressing. I can walk 10% farther in 2 minutes with just one crutch/cane than I did 4 weeks ago, and I can do 5 "sit-to-stands" in the same 10-11 seconds as before but this time I didn't need to use my arms to push myself up each time. I'm starting to have less pain since I had outpatient surgery Friday to remove the screw in my femur that was poking out. Eight hours after my last 5mg Oxycodone and Tylenol arthritis strength I was still able to walk about 10 feet in my kitchen without a crutch or cane before I tired out (but 9 hours after my meds dose forget it). Since I was 50% healed on X-rays 6 weeks post-op from the new femur rod, I'm praying for 100% healing when I have my next visit and X-rays at the surgeon in 6 weeks.
  4. We have not been treated like that by a car dealership since 2001, But what you guys went through sounds very similar to what they did to us on a 2001 Dodge Durango, switching prices and financing mid-way, and we walked out. In 2008 we had less comparable experience where they tried to get a new demo GMC Acadia for us from Denver, with 1,200 miles on it for a big discount. But when it showed up at the local dealer it had 4500 miles on it, and minor dings and scratches inside and out. Again we walked away.
  5. So, part of my pain was from one of the lower femur screws backing out and coming loose, and it was hitting my IT band and popping against it, and referring pain up my leg when I would bend and straighten my leg. It was halfway out and the head of the screw was about 1" under the skin. This is not uncommon. I elected to have them cut me open in the office to fix it today, and it was so loose it came right out once he cut deep enough to expose the screw - the threads in the bone were stripped, so it could not be tightened and retained. The good news is I didn't need both lower screws, and could even go without the second lower screw without issues. Also, a leg fracture in someone my age takes about 12 weeks to heal, and at 6 weeks post-op I'm 50% healed. It's more healed now than it was pre-op in November when I was at almost 11 months. They gave me a sterile suture removal kit so I can take the stitches out in two weeks while I'm at Duke, and I don't have to go back for 6 weeks. My Apple Watch says I walked 3 miles today, using just a cane, and I've only taken Oxycodone once today (for the outpatient surgery).
  6. Sorry to be such a Debbie Downer. Today was the one year anniversary of our car accident, and still neither of us can walk without assistance. I'm sorry to be so negative, but maybe after my first post-op X-rays tomorrow, from my second femur surgery, I'll be more positive. If my femur bone is finally healing then it means most of my current pain is due to overworked muscles from physical therapy, plus my fibromyalgia. Two weeks ago I did a whole flight of 12 stairs up and down in therapy, alternating legs with each step, and I haven't been the same since. I felt better two weeks ago than I do now, feeling like therapy is kicking my ass. My daughter's going with me to see the surgeon in Denver tomorrow AM, and then we'll head to Boulder so we can take her sister to see a movie together, before heading back home.
  7. Thanks, but I wish the news about her right ankle talus bone avascular necrosis was better. She can only take about 10 steps at a time, and still uses a wheelchair and crutches most of the time. Her right ankle joint X-ray looks terrible at the doctor yesterday, and it causes her great pain with bone on bone arthritis. She'll need an ankle fusion to reduce the pain, although she'll have much less function of the joint. She'll need another MRI to determine how much of the Talus bone is still viable. The left ankle with all the hardware is doing much better, with a nice smooth joint space between the Tibia, Fibula, and Talus bones. A nice car was the least we could do, but it will never be enough, not even with the fund that will pay for 3 years of law school if she's accepted.
  8. We got a bit of snow here last night, but my daughter's flight from Chile > Houston > Colorado was delayed 2.5 hours because of snow in Houston, not due to our weather!
  9. Picked up my daughter from the airport today, after she's been gone at semester abroad since August. Had a nice meal together and then we got to present her with a brand new Subaru Impreza Sport to replace her old Subaru that was totaled in our accident last December.
  10. I'd enjoy owning the Grand Seiko too. They're well made, and respected by those in the know. I recently pre-ordered a Nomos Glashutte Orion Midnight Limited Edition. And I have an older Seamaster Pro Bond Quartz shipping to me on Monday, just like the one I bought my son for his 18th birthday in 3 weeks so we can match (and yes, both from 1998 when my son was born - go ahead, make fun of me but I got a great deal on both). I'm considering switching the Nomos limited ed to an automatic Club Datum Dunkel. What say you?
  11. $4,800 to fix a RAV4 that slid on black ice into a curb at 5mph sucks. The majority was $3,100 parts and labor for a steering rack? Seriously? The cost to fix the car is half what we could sell it for...
  12. I got my Grey Side of the Moon back from Omega a couple of weeks ago. It's keeping time much better now, and consistently averaging +2.4 sec/day instead of +9 sec/day (after it slid 2 feet off my lap to the bathroom tile floor while I was in my wheelchair). I put it on a Dark Side of the Moon strap and think it looks even better than on the grey alligator strap.
  13. I can't find info about this using Google. My 6s Plus photos do look a bit better than my 6 Plus, especially in low light conditions, but the old 6 Plus pix aren't what I would call blurry. Should I be worried?
  14. Many of us have reverted to iTunes 12.3.0.44 (instead of 12.3.1) and fixed issues. Another fix is to create a new iTunes library, move your iTunes media folder to the new library folder, re-import all of the media files, and re-create all of your playlists. However, iCloud Music Library was still broken for me, so I reverted.
  15. Happy Belated Birthday! (I took a break from here for a few)
  16. All of a sudden I started getting emails to subscribed threads when I've had that turned off for all my subscribed threads. I only wanted to find new posts in my subscribed threads online. It started filling up my mailbox with dozens of posts. Went to turn it off but as global settings go I could only change it to a daily or weekly digest. So I did that and also told it to not send more than one notification until I visit the forum again.
  17. Thanks guys. What surprised me was the early acceptance in November of this year, as we were told it could take as long as Feb 1st next year for all the acceptance letters to go out for the Fall 2016 semester.
