  1. I'm jealous of the early arrivers, but fly safe everyone.
  2. I am bringing the PS-1s and some portable stuff. Any reason to bring the TTVJ FET-A or the luvdunhill Amp of a Thousand FETs? The latter requires a balanced source. Gene, please advise.

  6. John Lennon -- Plastic Ono Band
  7. Thanks for this Dinny. That's really an incredible story. I was listening to clips of John's final interview on the Rolling Stone site and already misty as I read it. I also just got off the phone with a friend/colleague who is a few years younger than me and grew up very near me. We were comparing our memories of the night 30 years ago. He was a freshman in high school and wasn't a particular Beatles/Lennon fan and wasn't strongly affected. I was a junior that year and was really into music and the Beatles. A couple of my best friends (then and now) were huge Beatles fans, and especially loved John. I was doing homework in our living room while playing records. My parents and maybe my brother were watching Monday Night Football and Howard Cossell had come on and said that John Lennon was shot and killed in NY. It was like a gut shot and I remember feeling blown away that he could be dead. I called one of those Beatlemaniac friends and told him about it and he was beside himself. It's really amazing and very sad that John was only 40. RIP
  8. You're not going to Bern's with the grown-ups?! Come on, we'll catch up with the jambanders after a nice dinner. BTW, did you snort that rail after chopping and lining it up so nice.
  9. That's very cool Mike. Bright kids pay off!
  10. So it's not feeling like a summer's eve up there?
  11. What about Mema's Alaskan Tacos?! Did you forget that?! And I was dogged for not know the meaning of "tube weather"! Sheesh.

  14. Because you are turning into the World's Tallest Oompa-Loompa from the head down?
  15. What the hell is "tube weather"?
  16. Yeah, I have to get that. Just had my picture taken with the World Series trophy at the ballpark yesterday. Pretty exciting to have my parents (88 & 84), my oldest brother (60) who went the 2nd ever SF Giants game in 1958 with my dad, and my daughter (15) in the pic. Good stuff.
  17. Coconut shell then.
  18. Todd! Hope you had a great 46th yesterday while we were marveling that Dave Brubeck was 90. May you be as healthy and productive as he has been over these last 44 years. Cheers!

Thanks for the heads-up but my sister-in-law already bought one, I believe. I think the lower cost and the older games is what must have driven his decision. I also assumed backwards-compatibility but if that isn't true in the PS3 that would make even more sense. Dew eet!

My brother has xbox Kinect and it was pretty cool. Of course, he also has a 1080p projector and a 10 foot screen, but it could be fun in a smaller setup too. Sorry to piggyback on Chris's thread, but is there some reason why my nephew would choose a PS2 specifically, rather than a PS3? That's what he is asking for for Christmas and I don't get it.
  21. Did you put out the Santa Shovel for any motherfuckers who try to come down your chimney?
  22. Happy birthday to one of the Bay Area's BEST!
  23. Thanks for all the prep work Gene!
