  1. Nice posting PostyWillow! I want to check those gigantic cans out again one of these days. They sounded pretty good with Todd's 307A and Pinnacle but I haven't heard them with much else.
  2. Nice grabs JP! The vinyl sounds great, but was it really RSD? Don't know how I missed that.
  3. Happy birthday Zoe. May you one day grow up to be the seventh tallest Mexican!
  4. I want another T-day dinner. Got no leftovers either this year.
  5. Wayne the stalker furry. Impressive indeed!
  6. Jambalaya Fest sounds great Mike. We just found out that a dumpy little coffee shop in Mayberry closed down and is being replaced by a cajun spot. Nice upgrade! Resistance is futile, other Mike!

  8. Sorry, all eated up. I have a tiny slice of pecan pie I was saving but I will slap it in the pneumatic tube now if you want to try the best pecan pie evar.
  9. Nice score all around Greg.

I can't offer any help on the Maggies, but I own a C-5xe MP and think it is a very nice sounding player. It is audio only but can play any silver disk format. It's sound is clean and detailed but not harsh or digital-edged. Definitely a good deal in my book. I also own the K-XR but not the M-XRs. I'm not sure what you found disappointing about the amp's internals but they are anything but. From the solid aluminum billet chassis on up, these are SOTA amps with tons of power but plenty of finesse. If my speakers weren't self-powered I would likely own them.

That's very cool Birgir! Are you going to try powering a Stax trafo box from it? Btw, what the heck is the "scratch" dial or button?
  12. Some random shots from the frosty Thanksgiving in Mayberry and the day-after hike. [imghttp://gallery.me.com/abedecarre/100632/IMG_7832/web.jpg?ver=12908364380001
  13. A little late, but Claire's rustic Tarte Tatin made with Granny Smiths and our own Fijis from our one little apple tree is worth a day-after shot. Bottom: Top:
  14. Happy Birthday college boy! Cheers!
  15. x3! That's not a face for radio, but congrats to her nonetheless. Cheers
  16. Heading out for my folks' house for Thanksgiving with 40 family members and friends. Both my parents, all five of my siblings, probably 10 or 11 of my nieces/nephews with various BFs/GFs in tow, my two kids, my wife, her sister's family and at least one other orphaned family. That's a lot to be thankful for right there!
  17. Hell hath no fury like a Stax scorned! Truly sucks Stretch, but I hope she gets back rights soon.
  18. Pie looks perfect Mike! Does that bill get you a cup of coffee or do you need a cuple for that, Stretch? I am currently giving thanks during my first time listening to the Pete Millett Unnecessarily Complex 300B Amp. I have it hooked up to the Moth DAC, fed by the EMM Labs CDSD SE as transport, through the little Goldpoimt passive pre I bought from Stretch ages ago, and then out of the PMUC3A into the Cicadas. After warming it up and getting the mercury vapor dancing, I can safely say I have not heard the Cicadas sound better. They sound fuller or more balanced than with the Moth 300B Paradigm, which is no small feat. So happy that I snagged this beast. Next up, K1000. Pics to follow because I have no way to get them from my camera to the computer right now.

  20. Frosty Thanksgiving morning here in Mayberry. Thankful for many and much as others have aptly said. Have a great day Head-Case, but save a little mean for times of need. Too much holiday spirit around here could wreck this joint!
  21. Awesome news Shelly! Hope you all have a great Thanksgiving.
  22. Good training Gene!
  23. Hell yes, fuck yeah, and right on Scott! Devil be damned, we're going to party! The Redbreast is generally available here, Gene, but I haven't seen the Green Spot. Very cool that you are getting booze straight from the source. I was very close to buying a Cannamara Quarter Cask the other night, but events overtook me. Open that Jameson in Tampa dammit!
  24. I'm down fo Ella's on Sunday. The East Coast temple is dead to me. We will just have to visit the West Coast sister again during MOA II. I am arriving Friday afternoon at 4:45 in Tampa, and leaving at 5:30pm Sunday. My crazy trial has shifted and I now have court on that Thursday afternoon, so it is lucky I did not pull the trigger to go early with Grahame and Peter. I also spoke to JP, and his work conflict will bump his arrival back to Friday at midnight. Work sucks. The Irish looks awesome, McSweeney! That will be good times.
