Updated to Amarra 1.1 and hung out on HC for awhile. Hung out in real world with son, and rode bikes to a taqueria for lunch. Getting there is all downhill toward the beach, but getting back was less fun while riding my wife's girl 15 speed which is too small for me, with a super burrito in my already outsized belly. Thought I might lose the super burrito at one point but powered through. Man, am I out of shape. This afternoon will be a BBQ at friends nearby, taking son to trick-or-treat with school friends in Marin while daughter goes to a bonfire on the beach and then trick or treating without us for the first time. Bonfire is with the same family hosting the BBQ so not to worry. Transitional year and the first time I will not go trick or treating in SF in 14 years. And now i really want rum punch after reading Dreadhead's post.

I think that is right, Dinny. I hated the Mighty Mouse or whatever with the teensy track ball. This is way better and cool for lost of things but heavy and awkward for things like right clicking where it shouldn't be. Weird disconnect at One Infinite Loop.

Glad to hear that. I really wasn't sure when dropping late the other night but just listened myself this morning and thought it was pretty darn good. I was pissed by the number of ticks and such, but it was freshly cleaned and even thrice cleaned in the case of Theme for Lester Young that has glitches early and in the middle. RTI strikes again, I guess.

My wife, JP#s and I had the life-force drained out of us at a concert last night that should have been a miracle but was instead a sin. Don Byron and Nicholas Payton at the amazing Grace Cathedral with its soaring space and 7-second delay front to back was expected to be wonderful. It wasn't. Byron playing solo at first actually was pretty cool. Mostly he played clarinet, some tenor sax, and some bass clarinet. Cool stuff. Then, the female vocal part of the original Star Trek theme song (as JP characterized it) broke out from the back of the church. It slowly moved forward and was complemented by some trippy violin playing. That was Iva Bittov

Nice, JP. What's wrong with using a good cart on a solid TT? If the foundation for good sound is there -- which your tests seemed to prove against a much more expensive TT -- then go ahead and kick it up a notch! I wouldn't go nuts with a super expensive cart because you would likely be leaving a lot on the table, but I bet that's a really nice improvement. I have to figure out what to do on my cart situation. I think I will get another arm for the Aries and set up the Skala vs. Koetsu test first, then maybe kick it up a notch meself.

Let us know how the 8GB upgrade works out because my 2009 Mini will be in for more than the current 4GB if it is as worthwhile as that article suggests.
