No shit! I saw Frissell at the Vanguard the weekend of the first national head-fi meet. Only time I have been there.

Just got the Moanin' today so I haven't even opened it up. I have yet to open the Silver and the Brooks from Music Matters, so I better get on the stick!

They are pictured in their correct orientation, so they look like they are lying on their side but they are not. Seems pretty stable to me. The main question would be whether your speaker is wide enough to sit on the two end pieces.

Come on David, if you really think that this meet is a dry run for CJ09 then you had better do a lot more advertising and hyping. I can see it as a way to energize the so-cal folks who haven't had a real meet in two years, but you cannot expect it to draw more than a couple of people from nor cal or anywhere else. I was thinking of trying to make the 25th into some kind of family trip to Disneyland (which we had discussed as a possibility this Fall) with a side-trip for me but then you changed the date late in the game to a weekend where I was already committed. Such is life, but don't try to guilt Grahame or me or anybody else because the local meets 300 miles apart now happen to fall on the same day. If you want to create divisions, then you're doing a good job.

Grahame did say he wanted to have a meet on this date -- the day before Burning Amp in Marin -- before you set Oct. 25 as a So-Cal meet date and even longer before you moved the date to Oct. 18. I don't think this small event will impact your meet at all, and we can have fun with it by playing it up as a state-wide event. Or, you could continue to post snarky comments here and on HF. Your choice.

Sad to say, but JP and I will be there so there is absolutely no chance of a dry meet. Booked the tickets with a companion fare deal from AmEx. About 2 bills each. Not sure how I decided this one, but when my wife simply rolled her eyes and put it on her iPhone calendar I figured I better go with it... Anyway, never been to Tampa and never met Jacob, so now it is essential that you go.

Welcome to Head-Case fellows. The DIY 300B looks grand , Parafeed. Nice work. The SinglePower MPX3 was originally all 6SN7 for gain and output, and it is an OTL design. Not sure if anyone has replicated it or traced the circuit anywhere. You could dig around or ask around to see. Good luck.

Yeah, it is stupid the way that they are setting it up. There will be an additional charge of $2-3/month and you get some of the Sirius content but I am not sure all of it. In the end I assume they are going to collapse it down and end up with a combination.
