I enjoyed the Weeds, although it started a little slow. Albert Brooks is a fun addition, and I cracked up over the "I saw my grandmother's vagina" line by Andy. You think they're playing up the milfyness at all?

I'm clearly being too literal, but when you said iPod + headphones I was wondering why you left out the Pico. Thus, the cable offer. I still have and RnB180 Black Diamond (?) plus the RnB180 gold reference cable I bought from grawk eons ago, and I hardly ever use them because I have an 5G iMod that requires the special dock.

I'm going to a wedding, so either I am out of contention or will catch up with you'all later. Now Friday, aka Justin's birthday, is another matter....
-
That's just goofy on the UE front. I have held out a long time on getting customs because Westone offered to have me be a beta tester on their Custom 3s. Still waiting for the universal to even arrive, and the Custom comes later. Anyway, why not use the Nano-->Pico-->ESW9? I have mini cables if you are in need...

Will do.

October would likely be earliest for me with other commitments, my wife's birthday, and our anniversary all in September. Let me try to pin down the guy planning another (non-audio) event and I will let you know. And thanks for even entertaining the scheduling issues...

You were kinda sleepy after that first long night of partying...

Add some nice AD2Ks for great sound but openness (I can hear the phone ring with them on at my desk rig). Dew eet!

Unless it gets sold in the meantime, Todd has agreed to send the TTVJ 307A amp to the meet. I guess we have to hope for the economy to keep sucking for a couple more weeks! Nice work by rhythmdevils for making the request.

Terrible timing for me, but I guess we'll see.

I'm still interested in that other idea you had at CJ08.

Grats Jack! I just spent some quality time with my Rockhopper Beta this weekend and was very happy. Enjoy!
-
I'm on vacation that week in Montana and Wyoming so I don't have any chance at all to make the meet. Sorry to miss out. :'(

I hope you get to do the cool stuff and shake it up. Maybe we should put together some mixes with all Archie Shepp, Albert Ayler, Don Cherry, and Pharaoh Sanders, Eric Dolphy and Sun Ra just to fuck with your office mate.

But wasn't this the first day at the new job, Jacob? How was it?

Holy crap, tons of emails flooded my blackberry after being out of service area for a day and at least 100 were email notifications for reply to threads since the vBulletin switch! I just figured out that the vB default must be to subscribe to every thread you reply to, and I made the mistake in Options of choosing Instant Email Notification. I just wanted the default subscription to be instant notification, but I sure as hell didn't want to subscribe to every thread I post in. Fixed now. Thanks for all the work on the new site Todd.

lol. Maybe cropped like my new avvy would be a better smiley.

Sorry. Taking pics of a black puppy is harder than I expected. Here are some shots, starting with Mae on her ride home on our first day together and ending with Psycho Puppy Attack!

Those are some cute kittens Salty. I woke up at 5:20am to let out the puppy and then managed to get back to sleep until just before 7am. Did a little quiet surfing and playing with the pup until the kids finally woke up around 9am. I just had breakfast of pancakes and bacon made by he kids, and my daughter made my second cappuccino. The first one had little foam peaks like the cover of Joy Division's Unknown Pleasures album, and the second had a heart shaped from coffee in the white foam. Sweet, and if I had a card reader I would post a pic of the heart cup. Spinning a couple records, opened a very cool lamp the kids picked out at a groovy design store. Life is good. Gotta call my dad.

Thanks for appeasing us with the pic, Papa Nate. Have a wonderful first Father's Day and many more to come!

Chris- Have you bought direct from Concord Records? They have a lot of discs at really low prices. Not sure what is available vs. what you are after, but here is the link to the main page but don't forget to click the "browse all OJC artists" link to dig deeper.

What a great trip Tom! Wow, that's a lot of vinyl in a short time. Are you gonna list 'em all for us or would you get carpal tunnel just from typing it all?! Enjoy! My relatively meager pickup from Amoeba Records the other night does have some highlights. I was looking at the new arrival used jazz LPs and found an OJC release of a Bobby Hutcherson record from the 80s. It was sealed in the original shrink-wrap with the OJC label still on it. I figured for 9.99 I couldn't go wrong because these titles are not available on vinyl generally speaking. Then, I found another and another and... Anyway, here are the sealed, original OJC LPs I scrounged out of the bins. OJC-425 OJC-108 OJC-062 OJC-051 OJC-125 OJC-1727 OJC-1776 I am curious to ask about the source but I didn't have time the other night. Will try to go again today. I also bought these "used" LPs, which are mighty fine as well: Cisco numbered copy 1218 unopened Further Adventures of El Chico, Impulse Soul Brothers, Milt Jackson and Ray Charles, Atlantic I was thinking about taking some pics of the OJC titles. I haven't even opened them yet. Going to make sure I just slit the shrink wrap to get the vinyl out so I can leave the OJC label on them.

NKOTB - TTVJ/Millett 307A Headphone Amp
Voltron replied to n_maher's topic in Headphone Amplification
Nice work! It will be interesting to hear your perspective, but the 307A was such a killer that I think I can imagine the winner. For one thing, you could drive any dynamic cans at all with that beasty. As Nate said, pics will be mandatory -- I don't think I have seen any of the 307A in a system. Enjoy! -
Fixed your fix for you.

I love the foam capacitor caddies.
