  1. I thought it was a pretty good episode. Not as good as fire drill, but perfectly acceptable.
  2. Note: I haven't listened to this rig in about six months. The amp is not working at the moment, and I've sold the SR60 since then, so these impressions are only what I remember. Try the Melos tube rolling thread over at head-fi for more in depth impressions. compared to an electroharmonix 6dj8/6922 tube (rebadged under a billion other names) telefunken: More focused on the low end and not so much the highs. I didn't really like this one as much as the mullard or the siemens. mullard: I don't remember which one of the many this was, but I do remember it having a more pronounced midrange and slightly recessed highs and lows. Worked pretty well with the sr-60. siemens: More highs, mids, and lows, very well controlled, not so much lush overwhelming syrupy sound. There's a difference between being sounding sweet and sounding sickeningly sweet, and these do not cross that line. Those are just my observations. My ears aren't the same as yours. likewise with my musical preferences. My recommendation is to purchase a set of each so you can see which you like the most.
  3. I've tried the telefunken, mullard, and siemens tubes with my Sha-1 and a pair of SR60, and my favorite was the siemens. I don't own and have never owned an RS1 though, so I can't tell you how the tubes are with those phones.
  4. So what kind of guns did you bring to the range?
  5. HD25, HD265, HD445, HD525, HD535, HD545, HD565, HD580, HD600, and HD650 all use the same style connectors.
  6. it could be built using shitty materials and with shitty workmanship and fail, or have the wrong pinout, or quite a few other things. Now if you really wanted to have fun, you could state that warranty is void if an "unapproved" cable is used, and then partner up with some cable manufacturers to provide multiple choices.
  7. Hons is okay; good prices, and the food is pretty good for being a chain. other suggestions - Shanghai River in Richmond, across from Richmond Center. Shanghai. Expensive. - Mui Garden in Richmond, also across from Richmond Center. Kinda Chinese, kinda Malaysian. Not too expensive. - Guu, in Arberdeen center in Richmond. Japanese food that isn't sushi. - Thai House in Downtown somewhere. Thai food. It's about what you would expect for Thai, in terms of price. - Panos Greek Taverna in Vancouver on Marine Drive and Fraser Street. Greek food. It's on the cheap side for greek, and it's quite good. - Pho Lan in Richmond, across from city hall. Horrible service, good food, good prices. and avoid at all costs: Lumiere. overpriced like no other.
  8. In Vancouver: 1. The Canada Line is now open. It lets you get from the airport to Down Town in about 30 seconds, give or take. There is also the Skytrain, which is a convenient way to travel around the major stops of Down Town (Such as Granville St, or Burrard, or Yaletown, etc etc). 2. Robson Street is a tourist trap. It's still nice to look, but keep your wallet in your pocket. 3. Stanley Park - Go there. 4. Richmond is boring. Don't go there.
  9. I'm using windows 7 RTM on my Thinkpad X300. So far, so good. Damn fast and stable, but the windows 7 driver for the lenovo network connections and power manager don't let you use small icon mode with the half-height taskbar, system update doesn't work, and on screen display doesn't show up when you're dimming the display. Even with these minor things, I highly recommend upgrading to windows 7.
  10. This mobile theme works well on my bold; I now expect my work productivity to drop even more. Thanks for helping me slack off even more.
  11. Audio-GD Zhaolu Graham Little Dot FiiO There are others, though.
  12. We're all about Rudistor and Ray Samuels Audio.
  13. Maybe we could have a theme for those of us who surf regularly on a mobile device such as a smartphone or ipod. Couple seconds on google brings up a simple vbulletin theme that could work: Mobile, Cell, Phone, PDA, iPhone Style - vBulletin.org Forum
  14. Just in case, in the original form over on hf:
  15. edit: nevermind, i'm a moron who didn't look at the date of the last post.
  16. I had nothing but horrible experience with Logitech and an MX Revolution. Mouse didn't work properly (kept skipping around the screen, impossible to do any precision work, randomly clicked and double and triple clicked, etc), and Logitech wouldn't replace it for me. Happened on multiple computers, too. Then again, my other MX Revolution is absolutely amazing, and so is the MX-1000 and 1100. Try the MX1100. It's taller than the Revolution, but it's more ergonomic.
  17. It may or may not be. Wait a couple days, and you'll know for sure. I've got my money on not though.
