The color spots look a little like Tetris blocks so I saw it as them spiralling down towards someone's Tetris game far off in the distance. Probably not the intended interpretation, but it worked for me.

I assumed it was a magic eye and so didn't even bother staring because I can't get them.

I think he's selling it as art. To each his own I suppose.

Really? It had the opposite (of enjoyable) effect on me -- it struck me as jittery and annoying. Still...interesting. Just not cats and weird Japanese shit interesting.
