October 10, 201015 yr I don't know how many of you saw these already, but I'll post them anyway. I'll list the Exif for picture 2, as that's the better one. Pentax K-x, | f/13 | 1/40s Shot in Aperture Priority with automatic white balance (Yes, I'm lazy.) RAW conversion in Lightroom, no other postprocessing. Taken with Pentax D FA 100mm 2.8 Macro WR. Entry level DSLR bodies and pro-level glass actually make an awesome combo. Oh, and one more thing: Yes, I know I need a sensor cleaning.
October 10, 201015 yr Took tons of pictures today at the Bronx Zoo. Everyone with a Canon should have a 70-200 in the bag.
October 10, 201015 yr Nice shots, Jeff. I especially like the last monkey one. Everyone with a Canon should have a 70-200 in the bag. I wish I had one (along with a new bag so 70-200 would fit).
October 11, 201015 yr Thanks for sharing those pics. I was particularly hypnotized by orange color part around the toucan's eyes for some odd reason.

October 11, 201015 yr Took tons of pictures today at the Bronx Zoo. Everyone with a Canon should have a 70-200 in the bag. Nice shots Jeff. I always have my 24-70 and 70-200 in the bag with the 5DMkII. I loves them both.
October 11, 201015 yr I'd love to see a 50-120mm f/4L or f/2.8L. I feel like I'd use that just as often as the 70-200 and 24-70. 17-40L on 400D. Only contrast and color balance in post.
October 11, 201015 yr I had a line of one of those locally to try out but never got the pick up scheduled. I don't think I would use it much but it would have its purposes. Especially on the FFs.
October 11, 201015 yr Considering you already have 24-70 & 70-200, I doubt you'd use it either. I want one eventually so I can just carry it and 10-22 when I'm out and about, instead of carrying my primes. EDIT - I supposed I'd be able to do the same with 24-70, but I want bit more reach since longest focal length I've got now is 85. Edited October 11, 201015 yr by Salt Peanuts

Been considering getting a 24-105 as well... in theory I think it would be a great outdoor walk-around with the coverage it can provide.
October 12, 201015 yr 24-105 is great, but 50-120 would be better, if it could be as sharp as the other 2. The 24-105 is about par with the 17-40 in terms of optics.
October 12, 201015 yr My lenses so far are the kit lenses for the Nikon D50--18-55 and 55-200. I also have the 35mm fixed. I would much prefer an 18-200. Is the basic Nikon one a good lens? Any other suggestions for lenses? I'm looking for something fast that is also forgiving of a lousy photographer.

October 12, 201015 yr I could see Canon making something along 50-120 range in EF-S mount as that would approximate 70-200 for their crop sensor, though it's probably not likely. It would be nice if Canon released more EF-S lenses for those of us not upgrading to FF anytime soon.
October 12, 201015 yr Dinny, check out the reviews here. Nikon / Nikkor (APS-C) Lens Tests I know nothing about Nikon lenses (and very little about Canon lenses for that matter), but reviews here are generally well received.

So it's not quite 50-120 and not from Canon, but I found these. 691101 Sigma 50-150mm f/2.8 EX DC HSM II Telephoto Zoom Lens for Canon EOS Digital Cameras. Tokina AF 50-135mm f/2.8 AT-X Pro DX - Review / Test Report Edited October 12, 201015 yr by Salt Peanuts
October 12, 201015 yr Yep, I've considered those, but I think in the end, I'd prefer the 24-105 for the build quality and USM. The Tokina is far better than the Sigma but lacks USM. If I end up going Nikon, I will pick up the 24-120mm if the reviews are positive.
October 14, 201015 yr Video shot with Canon's new 8-15mm fisheye mounted on 5DII and 7D. Canon: EF8-15mm f/4L FISHEYE USM Sample Movies

October 15, 201015 yr I wish people would post up high iso RAWs for the D7000 already. Seems that everyone only posts up JPEGs.
