July 1, 200916 yr Have any of you downloaded it yet? It handles complex code really well and loads pages fast. I'm really liking it.
July 1, 200916 yr Been using it since the first beta came out. It's a substantial improvement over the snails pace of page loading that was firefox 3.
July 1, 200916 yr This is the biggest upgrade in browsing speed I've experienced. I'm pleasantly surprised.
July 1, 200916 yr It's really not that fast overall, compared to say Chrome, Safari 4 or Opera 10. But yeah if firefox 3 is your only comparison point then it's a ton faster.
July 1, 200916 yr Author Yeah I only use firefox as well so it seems a ton faster to me as well. I didn't like Opera for reasons that I can't remember and chrome still won't scroll up for me with my laptops touchpad for some goofy reason. IE has been simplified to a Wii game level which I don't like.
July 1, 200916 yr It pains my fanboy soul to say it, but Safari 4 has been weirdly flaky for me recently and I've been using FF more and more often.
July 1, 200916 yr It's really not that fast overall, compared to say Chrome, Safari 4 or Opera 10. But yeah if firefox 3 is your only comparison point then it's a ton faster. really? FF3.5 is faster than Chrome on my Vista laptop and about as fast as Safari 4, I haven't tried Opera 10 yet, but Opera 9.6 is really slow from my experience.
July 1, 200916 yr Just installed it. Seems faster than FF3, but not that fast, for your comments I expected the astonishing speed of Chrome, which I don't use for other reasons. Good update anyway, thanks for the heads up.
July 1, 200916 yr Am I being obtuse? Where are the installation instructions for Linux? What am I supposed to run, updater?
July 1, 200916 yr Am I being obtuse? Where are the installation instructions for Linux? What am I supposed to run, updater? yum preupgrade until you hit F11.
July 2, 200916 yr Okay, Billy, now disengage the plugin and speak English. Very corny redhat/fedora joke.
July 7, 200916 yr Am I being obtuse? Where are the installation instructions for Linux? What am I supposed to run, updater? Switch to ArchLinux then type "pacman -Sy firefox"
July 11, 200916 yr Since upgrading, I have noticed FF3.5 crashes a lot more than 3 (which seldom, if never crashed). It's not a big deal since it reopens all the tabs within seconds. I suspect this is just due to one website which I usually have open.
July 11, 200916 yr I had lots of problems with 3 crashing. The problem turned out to be an add-on. Sorry, I can't remember which one it was. I haven't had a single crash since I upgraded to 3.5. You might want to start disabling add-ons to see if one of them is causing the problem.
July 11, 200916 yr I have neither of them. After thinking more about it, I think it was the Skype add-on that was giving me the problem. Obviously that add-on is not your problem, but you can easily disable your add-ons to see which, if either, is causing your crashes.
July 11, 200916 yr FF 3 used to crash when closing for the Spanish spellchecker. No such problem with 3.5, it works very well here.
July 12, 200916 yr Just installed it. Seems to be marginally faster and with that new tab button, but other than that I can't really tell what's the difference.
July 12, 200916 yr Author One bonus I've noticed with 3.5 is that the spell check seems to work past the 6 mark barrier. With three spell check seemed to stop working once I typed more than a couple of paragraphs.
