January 22, 201016 yr The panel is .25 thick just like the real stuff. Some of the stax plugs are a bit larger than 18mm, so if i recess it then i have to machine a donut around it. Will try with the O2 plug later. The pins in the stax jack are already recessed about .05
January 22, 201016 yr Some of the stax plugs are a bit larger than 18mm, so if i recess it then i have to machine a donut around it. Will try with the O2 plug later. I asked this question in the Stax thread, trying to do my panel with Marc's jacks...... apparently, the biggest Stax plugs are 18.5mm in diameter.
January 22, 201016 yr original omega connectors and the stax extension cable are both 19.25 mm my original O2's are 18.88 mm the sr-003's i have are 18.93 mm
January 22, 201016 yr Well somebody's calipers are out...... I'll increase the size of my cutout a bit regardless, just to be safe.
January 22, 201016 yr Maybe Kevin is including the bulge of the keyway? Nope. Although that measures about .5mm Isn't a 5 digit digital mitutoyo digimatic a standard part of everyone's computer desk?? I have 3 on mine (different sizes) Plus a digital micrometer...
January 22, 201016 yr Author The Stax connectors are molded so there will always be some margin of error.
January 22, 201016 yr Nope. Although that measures about .5mm Isn't a 5 digit digital mitutoyo digimatic a standard part of everyone's computer desk?? I have 3 on mine (different sizes) Plus a digital micrometer... I'm using the same caliper on my SR-003s and get the same number. FWIW.
February 1, 201016 yr Author Glad that's over... There are some errors in the BOM though, at least version 4 which I have.
February 2, 201016 yr Author Red is indeed very cool. Kevin should be the first to fire it up and I probably won't be far behind. As for the BOM errors, there are no 6K8 resistors, instead there should be four 6k2's. The BOM listed 8*390K but you really need 12. You also require at least four more 10K units, probably more. Since it is such a common value it's a good idea to have some extra. I also matched the 22K resistors and interestingly none of them were over 22K. You need four matched as close as possible to 22K for the "zener" section.
February 2, 201016 yr Hopefully the parts i'm receiving this week will complete the amplifier chassis. Still missing a number of parts on backorder for the power supply.
February 2, 201016 yr More parts came in today. But still not all of them... Frustrating... anyway http://gilmore.chem.northwestern.edu/t2chassis26.jpg http://gilmore.chem.northwestern.edu/t2chassis27.jpg
February 2, 201016 yr Author I got an email today from Mouser and the last of the parts should be in stock in April. A long time but better then the late July date in the last estimation...
February 3, 201016 yr I got an email today from Mouser and the last of the parts should be in stock in April. A long time but better then the late July date in the last estimation... What brand are those pretty red resistors?
