October 11, 201411 yr comment_655943 JoaMat has sent me the board layout, and I'm working on it. He did not need silkscreens, everyone else is definitely going to need them. Could do it as 1 board instead of 4. As one board it would be 11.77 x 7.8 inches. So a bunch smaller than the 16 x 12 of the original And using 10m90s definitely removes a bunch of parts. And so does the lt1021, although that one part is probably double the cost of the led's and fet it replaced. Way more stable though. Report

October 11, 201411 yr comment_655945 suggest you buy as many 2sk79 and 2sk216 as you can, you are still going to need those. no suitable replacement for those yet. All the other parts are mouser. http://gilmore.chem.northwestern.edu/t2modified.jpg Getting the power supply to match that physical size going to be just about impossible. October 11, 201411 yr comment_655977 Thanks Kevin and Joamat for pulling it together for the rest of us mortals Report
October 11, 201411 yr comment_655987 Hey joamat, your boards look fantastic. What method do you use to etch those? Printer toner transfer? Report

October 11, 201411 yr comment_656052 Oh crap! I'm feeling the need to build this. haven't looked closely yet, but you still have some transistors labeled with 2SC3675. were you thinking of doing this as one or four boards? Edited October 11, 201411 yr by Kerry Report
October 11, 201411 yr comment_656055 four boards might give a little more flexibility in casing, you can stack the output stage over the front end Might be cheaper to fab four smaller boards as well Edited October 11, 201411 yr by nopants Report
October 11, 201411 yr comment_656062 I like it a lot. I do prefer the single board layout. Nice one Kevin and Joamat. Report
October 12, 201411 yr comment_656063 here is the schematic http://gilmore.chem.northwestern.edu/t2schemmodified.pdf hopefully the two match. Report

October 12, 201411 yr comment_656072 10m90s on the board bottom has 120 and 100, top has 300 and 100, schematic has 300 and 200? Report
October 12, 201411 yr comment_656076 correct values are 100 ohms gate, 300 ohms cathode. fingers getting tired after a day of typing. Report
October 12, 201411 yr comment_656078 No worries, easy to gloss over things when porting files around I also don't see any 2sk216 in the battery schematic, but they're on the silkscreen Report
October 12, 201411 yr comment_656088 Pots in parallel with the 510R have no label on the silkscreen. Is .5W big enough for the 47R heater ground resistors? Edited October 12, 201411 yr by GrindingThud Report

October 12, 201411 yr comment_656131 there is no 2sk216 in the battery. The 2sk216 feeds the top of the battery. also there are no 1k resistors to measure the batteries with, I will fix that. Edited October 12, 201411 yr by kevin gilmore Report
October 12, 201411 yr comment_656159 JoeMat, Very nice! use LT1021 to the active battery is good idea. Keven, can you add extra pattern for the solid state input (LSK389 and 2SK170 x2) option? Edited October 12, 201411 yr by Inu Report
