May 12, 201016 yr I like the two Booq bags, though mostly because I see some orange. This thread is making me want a briefcase, though I really have no use for one.
May 12, 201016 yr Author Looks like you found a use for Corkulous? Very nice! Heh, yeah. It's been really good for this. I like that app.
May 12, 201016 yr That filson one is pretty iffy imho. I have some sort of tumi, it looks alot like the alpha, though I removed the shoulder straps, as I cant stand them. Its got like 18,000 pockets in it. I went with leather after having the nylon of my last bag start to wear apart in several corners. I dont think you'd regret a tumi. Just mind the width if you're planning on ever hauling a laptop in it, some of them are small.
May 12, 201016 yr Dinny, of the more casual ones, I think I like the booq's better than the Tom Bihn. Either would work for business for me but I don't wear a tie or jacket at the office. If I recall correctly you are in a more conservative office so they may be too casual. I like my Tumi, which was a gift from my wife. She didn't get the leather because my partner told me the reason he no longer carries his is it is too heavy. I also didn't want to spend $600 plus on the bag. Once I return from my vacation, assuming I have any money left, I will order the Tom Bihn iPad case to compare with the booq. Edited May 12, 201016 yr by tyrion
May 12, 201016 yr Do you mean a Mra? I'm pretty sure that most of these bags comes with one. I'd settle on Manssiere.
May 12, 201016 yr Author I do like the Tumis. Mike, you're right, my office is very conservative (business dress), but it's also weird--probably why I like it here. Conservative, but not fancy, so I may be able to get away with a less corporate bag provided that it is not bright pink. BTW, I checked out a couple of luggage stores in my neighborhood around my office. That is a sketchy business.
May 12, 201016 yr Tumi Store: 67 Wall St New York, NY 10005-3101 (212) 742-8020 This place is supposed to carry booq but I don't see any on their website, you may want to call: Digital Society Computer Center 60 East 10th Street, New York, NY 10003 (212) 777-3093 Edited May 12, 201016 yr by tyrion
May 12, 201016 yr Author Thanks Mike. I went by the Tumi store in Grand Central yesterday. They're nice, but full price. I'm wondering if online will be better pricing.
May 12, 201016 yr Dinny ... try eBags. They have both Tumi & Booq. Pricing should be better than retail store, and they do free shipping.
May 12, 201016 yr Author I'm very close to ordering the Tom Bihn Zephyr. And also an iPad murse of some kind. And panties.
May 13, 201016 yr I just ordered the Tom Bihn Ristretto (none iPad version). It's available now, 2.5" taller and wider, which maybe a better option than the iPad version. Dinny gave me the idea. I got it in black/steel. They have a 60 return policy.
May 13, 201016 yr Author Good call Mike. I'm probably right behind you on it. I like the extra room. I think I'll be spending a fair amount of $ with Tom Bihn today.
May 13, 201016 yr Wow, those are some nice bags. Now I need to become a wealthy retired industrialist or something so I can buy bags that expensive. I'll buy them out of all of them
May 13, 201016 yr Author So I ordered the Tom Bihn Zephyr AND the Tom Bihn ID Messenger. I'll try each and send one back. Refrained from the Ristretto for the moment.
