K701.

Hello People,

I'm Shane and I'm new here.

I share a pair off AKG K701 headphones with my father, plus they belong to my father. And very good headphones they are!! The Headphone amp we use with the AKGs is a MF X-CAN V2.

Is it true, the Heed CanAmp goes very well with the AKG K701?

Regards.

I don't think that the Heed Canamp goes at all well with the K701. But then I don't think that the MF X-CAN V2 goes well with the K701 either. Because nothing goes well with the K701. Because the K701 sucks. And very sucky headphones they are!!

Is it true, you should sell the lot and buy some Stax?

Regards.

For further information on the K701 and how good it is. Consult Head-Fi.

I'm happy with my K701's thank you.

Go for the Quincy Jones edition, worth every penny.

Some people say the Quincy Jones edition has the same specs as the K701. And sounds the same etc.

Good advice. Not much if any love here for your headphones. Much easier to get the kind of advice you're looking for over there.

True.

I see lots of people here love Stax.

There was one amp that I thought the K701 "had good synergy with", but I don't rmemeber...looks like it was the DarkVoice.

And I can see it working with the MF X-CANv2.

Can't tell you to pay heed to the Heed crede, though, haven't heard it myself. I recommend the place mentioned elsewhere -- Head-Fi.

I don't think anyone here has a Heed. The default recommendation for any low impedance dynamic is probably Dynalo.

But anyways, OP should shut up for a while. You can go to Head-Fi I guess, but I'd rather not have you post there either.

I don't have anything against the kid or the majority of HF; his question just isn't something that warrants new threads.

Dynalo (what I'm using now) or Dynahi (what I'm finishing casing on this winter). This with 601s. M^3 with sigma11 PSU would be a solid rec as well, and probably warm them up a touch.

And x2 on the shut up and read (including welcome pm) or go over there. Or not.

Gilmore Lite, CKKIII and MMM are very good choices for K701 in that price range. K701 is my personal favorite and it doesn't not suck at all.

I'd recommended you to skip Head-Fi altogether. I can't image what would happen to you for a newbie to ask questions about K701 these days.
