I genuinely cannot tell the political stance of this parody. Is it mocking Cracker Barrel and their logo redesign kerfuffle? Is it making fun of Bernie? Is it lampooning the former from the perspective of the latter? In any case, it's well executed. - Today

Got to see a jazz orchestra play at a house party (the house of the drummer; when did drummers get houses and not cardboard boxes to live in? And there was this bonkers 50ft radius tree swing he built for his kids (and it's *totally* not a sex swing, I hear). It's pretty bonkers. Was hit up about this just hours before it started; such a neat thing to stumble across. I knew 2.5ish people b4 I went there and came out probably having expanded the musician friend group in the area a bit. My kind of people (band nerds.) Such a good time.

Went to the San Jose Lowrider Day downtown today. Quick visit, but some snaps from Hassy 907x 50c with XCD 45p (4x3) and Nikon Df with CV 40mm f/2 (3x2). Funny enough I liked more Nikon shots. -

Omega_ELS started following Stax 717 with moded case
-
so what do we have here stax 717 in a strange huge metal case now the weight has increased from 5 kg to 11 kg I don't know who did it and why it seems like the case is made well, all the places for fastenings are made accurately but the weight... whoever did it seems to have no idea about the cost of international delivery of 1 kg by air... another strange thing is 2 side lemo connectors if we look at what is connected there, everything is simple this is 1 channel (left) is connected to one lemo and then the second lemo is connected to the 5 pin socket who and why did it - is a mystery to me tomorrow I will try to switch the jumpers to 220v and turn it on, and also connect the left channel back to the stax connector I wonder who and why brought the left channel outside the amplifier) it looks like there are no other modifications but I'm not sure about that...

He's a featured character in Jon Ronson's 2001 book Them: Adventures with Extremists (whether by luck or by some insight, Ronson has been ahead of this stuff for decades) On that topic, Ronson did a podcast series exploring the origins of lots of the culture war fights. Definitely worth a listen https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m0011cpr/episodes/player?page=1

Hilarious three part The Dollop podcast on Bo Gritz who after serving in the Vietnam War, used a cheerleading camp, psychics, sex workers and Clint Eastwood's donations to "lead" various failed attempts to rescue MIA POWs that didn't exist (and that's just the first episode). Failing up as they say, he was a "hero" and was supposedly the inspiration for an A-Team character and several Chuck Norris films. Later he showed up at Ruby Ridge and ran for president with the slogan "God, guns, and Gritz". Ahead of your time there Bo. If only you waited until 2016.
