  2. definitely has enough power for that. 2400 volts peak to peak stator to stator at 25ma bias. only otl dc coupled solid state amplifier design that can do this.
  3. David Lynch and video games:
  4. Yes, it should have no problem with that. The only issue might be gain and bias but easy to solve.
  5. Today
  6. I've been "following" the FB page of Finnish electronic trio Koneveljet for like 15 years and the updates have been ...sparse. Their last album was 2005. It was a staple in my record back in the 00s. Unlike many of their peers from the frozen north who make either brooding techno or chilly ambience, Koneveljet got for a mouse upbeat and cheerful sound. They do so while being exceedingly odd about it. "Welkom" is a bouncy, almost goofy dance track with the strangest tourist guide imaginable: I dropped it in a tiny but very ritzy club in the second half of the 00s and got asked by several of the patrons "What is this stuff?" "Kompa" is similarly energetic with a guy with a (presumably) Finnish accent repeating the names of famous people. To this day, I'm not sure of the name after Winston Churchill. I love how they use Ringo Starr as poignant punctuation. The whole thing is so genuinely odd yet completely effective. Solid Finland/10. Since then they reformed briefly to do a live gig in 2017 (in Finland of course). Most of their updates are in Finnish (even machine learning struggles to translate it correctly.) Some things don't really require translation, like this photo: I woke up this morning and was greeted with the announcement of a new Koneveljet album, the first in over 20 years(!) Downside: the cover art is AI slop. 🤮 I hope the music is better.

  10. Loved his work with Keith Jarrett for Standards and other LP's as well! RIP Jack!

    Analysis

I love Elizabeth/The Charismatic Voice; several others have also mentioned her. For me, I love how she geeks out to Heilung.
  12. He was great even in his late years. RIP JDJ
  13. If you're like me and love nearly everything about it, except the whiplash relationship at its core (and echoed usually a scene or two later with the other couple), it does feel an awful lot about relationships. 😆 If you happened to have just finished The Dollop podcasts on Bill Clinton, well, even more so...
  14. Apparently, ignore the global statecraft, it's all about relationships. https://www.washingtonpost.com/style/2025/10/23/diplomat-netflix-keri-russell-clinton-marriage/

    Analysis

With all the great analysis videos out there is it time for a separate thread?
  17. Between yesterday and today, giving and feeling good. I've been talking to two different (one partially) homeless people for several months, always giving a 10 or 20 when I see them. At my son's insistence (!) I just gave one of them $300 in cash. To say the least, he was amazed and driven to tears and hugs. As I walked back to my car, this woman drives up to me and chats with me. "He's not REALLY homeless..." she says. I knew that; he has a wife and a dog, and his father in law lets him stay at his place at times. Otherwise, they live in a van. I acknowledged that, but also just said that people need some help now and then. A man came out of the passenger seat, she told me it was her son, and he has autism, so don't be put off. He was fairly high functioning, but you could tell he'd always need help. Anyway, we got to talking and this woman has a home, but also has had a tough time of things. So, I took the other $300 I had and gave it to her. We both started tearing up. Now I need to pull ANOTHER chunk out to give to the other person. He knows me by name, knows I lost my wife, and like the first guy I give him something whenever I see him. He also told me that - even though he's homeless and has limited capability to help - if I ever needed something he could provide, to not hesitate to ask. These folks are amazing. So yeah, I'll get him something that I hope will help him this winter. On top of all that, today my son (staying with me while condo being worked on) has a friend over and they are listening to a few of my systems. Son brought back some speakers I gave him, so offering them to his friend. TL;DR version: it feels fucking great to give and help others as long as I can!
  18. I have to admit, when I first saw this, I was like cool. 'Voice of the Theater" ALs. I didn't catch that they were yours. Well done!!
  19. Jack DeJohnette, acclaimed jazz drummer who worked with Miles Davis, dies at 83 https://apnews.com/article/jack-dejohnette-dies-jazz-drummer-miles-davis-744f6ac4428ad563a6c629bd6ce9cfc2
  20. Completed servo controlled grid voltage. Works with EL34, 2A3, 300B and EML 20B-V4.
  21. I'm slowly working on replacements but nothing that is ready for release yet. The Dekoni pads are well made but I wouldn't pick those as they are too big and I'd never use fenestrated pads due to the air leaks. You'd ideally want 105mm pads with a fairly large opening and there aren't all that many out there off the shelf.
  22. CRCW's should be just fine so something else might be drifting there.
  23. In case y'all don't think I'm eating (enough) (Round a friend's)
  24. I've used Vishay's CRCW 2010 and 2512 resistors rated at 400V. They are thick film resistors. Unfortunately due to political issues.
  25. Later she starred in Dead Women in Lingerie with Jerry Orbach. Dream casting.
  26. RIP to the other Mrs. Robinson
  27. Need a bit of help Are there any alternative earpad replacements for the SR-007? For example (not sure if this works): https://dekoniaudio.com/product/elite-fenestrated-sheepskin-ear-pads-for-audeze-lcd-headphones/ The original pads are a bit pricey.
