I aim to please!! I think these are old though... but can't find anything on them.
-
New Doc just dropped - I am busy for the next 4 hours.
-
I was hopping that the latest version will be a lot better than the old I still have ... and not using. Now my hope was killed by Spritzer, thanks!

^I was today-years old when I found out this type of thing existed!

the problem of Reference Amplifier for Electrostatic"
kevin gilmore replied to Omega_ELS's topic in Headphone Amplification
the power supply is clearly labeled as +350 and -350. so an absolute maximum of 1400 volts peak to peak stator to stator. which is 500vrms. not 630 vrms. the same as every stax amp with these power supplies. srmt1 all versions, srm717 srm727 etc. looks almost identical to the koss circuit with bipolar outputs replacing the mosfets. push pull. no idea of maximum output current. lots of opamps with huge amounts of feedback. if its cheap enough, might be worth it. probably not. -
Focus on the Family founder James Dobson croaked. Suddenly I'm in the mood to say good things about Hulk Hogan, if you take my meaning.
-
Hehe, this unit was never set to 115V so unless it was natively 230V, I'd doubt it. There are a few of these floating around out there though, at least 4 have sold in recent months and this one was by far the cheapest.

the problem of Reference Amplifier for Electrostatic"

The pics are too low res to make any values out but it looks like it is multiple opamp stages feeding into a low power push-pull stage. I wouldn't call that reference in anyway. The person doing this doesn't seem to understand RMS values and that bias supply is super sketchy... None of those resistors are rated for that voltage. Clearly voltage divider into RC filters but one 2010 resistor to ground and the ballast is a 1/4W unit? Yeah... no. -
Ouch, what a state of the art chassis! Lamborghini-class, congrats!

I’m up here at 12,000 feet, eating a bagel while tweaking my amp. Altimeter says it’s all good.🤞 And you know what, if you’re interested, I actually have an upcoming spare CNC chassis set (one PSU case and one amp case). I’d be more than happy to send it your way just for fun, freely. Let me know your thoughts.

Fascinating chassis work. How about the scale of the altimeter? Small pointer one lap 1200 feet, two laps 2400 feet?

In the past few months, I haven’t been idle. Besides finishing a T2 Mini, I also continued to refine the GG chassis design. Through these experiences learning 3D design, I decided to completely re-draw the CAD files and hand them to a professional factory for prototyping (yes, I don’t believe a hobbyist garage CNC can really handle this job☹️). Below are some photos of the sample unit. This time the chassis is fully CNC-machined, which is why you can see the extremely thick panels and the more complex geometric structures compared to earlier versions. The side heatsinks are not separate parts. They are directly CNC machined into the chassis walls. At the same time, the bottom cover is split into two independent left and right plates, each with a grid-style cutout design. You can remove only one side of the bottom cover to do testing or adjustments without disturbing the entire chassis. The grid pattern reduces weight while maintaining mechanical strength, and it also improves ventilation inside the chassis. More updates will follow soon.

D'Agostino Relentless. The mono power amps are $£Euro (all about the same these days) half a million for the pair. Each unit weighs a quarter ton - so half a ton for the pair. I have absolutely no idea how they are removed from the pallets. Or what safety requirements are for floor loading.

Me too.

Thanks guys!

Those are quite pathetic little amp carts

Too funny! I very much doubt that and would never be dumb enough to fight him over it! 😅

Looks like they need Milo & Otis to make new amp stands, but the amps are sure shinny.
-
Here, or speaker porn? The ostentatious aesthetic of the amps wins out, I think.

West of Broadway by Rachael & Vilray (2025) https://album.link/vq8hxmdwzwfb7 Happy to see a new Rachel & Vilray. I dig that they are writing these 50s style jazz tunes today. Great duets.
