Wild and Crazy Go Nuts!

  1. Started by KenW,

In my other post, I thought I'd seen something that would define the ridiculous but now I'm not so sure it can stand up to this: So tell me...just how did a kid who CAN'T READ score a 22 on READING COMPREHENSION? I don't know what's more ridiculous....the thought of a kid who can't read trying to make it in college or that his family thinks they could possibly win a case in court. On what grounds? How could a judge allow that? How could that decision be defended legally and morally? I know it's all about $$ but what happened to the integrity of a college degree? If I'm an Ole Miss grad, I'm raising he!! over this one. Just plain crazy IMO.

Fine writer. Read every one of his Culture novels and about 75% of his "serious" fiction. A great loss. http://www.guardian.co.uk/books/2013/jun/09/iain-banks-dies-59-cancer

  7. A very good friend of mine, Jameson, is riding in Death Ride Tour in honor of a friend who is suffering from ALS. Below is a message I received from Jameson. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Hello to all. This year, we are doing two fundraiser bike rides. Death Ride - a fundraiser for ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease) and Tour de Cure - the same diabetes fundraiser that we always do. Why Death Ride? One of my best friends has ALS. He was one of the toughest guys I knew. Five years ago, we were doing mountain centuries, and didn't think much of it. Out of nowhere, he started complaining about cramping after long…

Just putting this out there in case it can help. Harry Manx, a fixture on the Canadian folk-music scene, had a one-of-a-kind instrument (basically his livelihood) stolen recently. Here's a photo of it, and a message from him: Beloved friends, with a heavy heart I want to tell you all that this morning at Chicago Ohara airport, while I was on my way to retrieving my luggage, someone stole my beloved Mohan Veena (pictured to the left of me). Security cameras showed a man pick it up and walk out. I've had that Veena more than 20years. There's hardly been a day that I haven't played it. I feel as though I've lost a good friend. I need everyone's help to find it. I…

This was her last night, cooked and resting: Just eaten it (well, not all of it) and to be honest it was the one thing on the plate that I didn't really like.... much preferred the stuffing and all the trimmings (as is usually the case with Christmas dinner) Anyways, any other saddos here who have got nothing better to do than take pictures of their turkeys? If so, upload them..... I just love looking at other people's birds
