ok so i got a pair of xhadow female xlr plugs in the house and man they do sound better than the furutech rhodiums for half the price. anyone fancy a pair of used furutechs for like 25 bucks? anyway, xhadow cardas vs zu mobius should be interesting.

Anything besides Blue Jeans LC-1 ICs I should consider for $50 or under a pair?

What are your preferred RCA connectors? I'm thinking about buying some good bang for the buck connectors and looking for opinions. No strict budget. Will need a total of 8.

I bought a Squeezebox today and plan to run the coax out the my Opus 21 and the optical out to my Marantz receiver. I found a few glass optical cables at Parts Express but the longest the have is 12 ft and I really need something thats 15 ft. Any recommendations?

I was looking for some NOS tubes and sent a few emails out. The responses have been more than a bit puzzling. Is it now the norm to have customers place the order without knowing what brand of tubes he can expect to receive? Maybe I'm being unreasonable, but I'd kinda like to know what brand of tube I'm actually going to be receiving BEFORE I place the order. Is this now how the tube vendors operate? Is it accepted that Sylvania, RCA, Tung Sol, etc....are all pretty much the same so who gives a flip? All of a sudden, SS is looking pretty good to me again. Someone want to make a beta22 for me?? \

In my new source/transport thread Yikes made an interesting point, that optical is an inferior solution to coaxial (or something to that extent I suppose). Why is that?

I need to find some footers for my speaker stands so that the spikes won't damage a tile floor. I've used quarters in the past but they have problems. Does anybody have a favorite footer that they would like to recommend? If not, I probably will go with the Head Case approved "Hockey Puck footer". Thanks in advance.

I finally unpacked the old Lafayette tuner that I bought from Miguel Arroyo many months ago. Besides needing a switch box, I need an indoor FM antenna. Can anybody recommend one? I'd like to spend no more than $50. Thanks in advance for your recommendations.

So I just bought a headphiled SR225 and the dumb bum who had it done had it terminated to 1/8, so now I need an adapter. I know Grado makes a 1/4 to 1/8 adapter cable, but who makes the reverse? And does it really matter about what company I buy from? Thanks in advance!

Hello I'd like to try out some good silver interconnects. Please tell me what i should be looking at.. right now i have my eyes on the moon audio silver dragon.

Golden Monkey on that other site (hidden in a 740C thread) mentioned the Tributaries - Silver Series video cable (could also be used for coaxial audio) sale over at AudioAdvisor. Of course ridiculous at $340 retail, but three coaxial cables at $30 isn't bad. Thought some here may be interested.

Is there any four core headphone type wire at partexpress you guys would recommend? I'm putting an order in soon and I want to get all my crap in one order if possible. If not, any other stuff/place you've tried. Not looking for expensive stuff, just plain old copper, shielded or not. Whatever is decent quality.

Anyone have any experience with the Signal Cable Silver Resolution ICs and speaker cables?

As the title says, I'm needing a 2.5mm to 3.5mm adapter so I can get rid of the cheap/awful buds that came with my cell phone and use some decent IEM's. Unfortunately, I'm having trouble finding these. Radio Shack(mine anyway) and the cell phone companies in my area don't have any. I ordered an expensive one ($20) from Pocket PC Techs only to find that it was defective upon arrival so back it went. I see lots of adapters in mono but I'm not finding a lot of options for stereo. Anyone have one that they're happy with? Where did you find it? Any help would be appreciated.

I have a friend who works at Circuit City. Earlier this year we were talking about making him a line stabilizer and he started egging me on to get a power conditioner. So I recenty got a new iPhone 3g and now need to carry around my earbuds with the USB cord with me at all times. So right now my solution has been to use my old batty and dugout softcase:) So I have two questions. 1. What is the best soft headphones case that has enough space for earbuds, usb cable and maybe a future third cord? I would prefer a softcase but am bycurious over soft/hardcase. (The third cord option would be for an iPhone A/v cable but is totally optional I would like it as a future cord.) 2. What is the best earbuds with microphone, volume adjustment and play,pause,fast forward etc.?

Many of you probably know that I just bought this Samsung HTIB. All I need to finish setting it up is a pair of cheap 28" (more or less) speaker stands for the front L/R speakers. These Sanus stands at Amazon is the best deal I've found. Before I act on this, I thought I'd ask here to see if anybody knows of a better stand and/or deal. Thanks in advance for your advice.

Would somebody measure the diameter of the hole in a pair of Grado flat pads? I think I'm going to but the pads for the SR60 and just cut my own hole. Thank.

For primarily budget reasons, I am using a PreSonus Central Station as a pre amp in my living room speaker system. The PCS has a pretty decent built in dac which I am feeding with a modded Onix cdp via spdif. Due to the fact that my Flying Mole custom amp that had been providing amp duties over this past year has suddenly decided to take the vow of silence, I am in the market for a new sub $1.8K amp and perhaps going balanced if that is doable at that price point. The PCS has TRS outputs so I was thinking that if I had a pair of TRS to XLR connectors to a "balanced" amp(s) I would have a true balanced speaker system. Am I right or am I blowing smoke?
