I have very little John Adams around and after watching I AM LOVE with a JA soundtrack I want more. Any suggestions on where to start to explore?

This is what mybloodyvalentine.org looks like right now: This has been a pretty disastrous launch. MBV clearly learned nothing from NIN and Radiohead when it comes to high profile album launches. They've had 22 years to plan this album release.

I think anyone that likes kraut rock should give this a listen. Like Amon Duul or Can on steroids (or more drugs). This is one of my favorite albums in the last few years. ...just looking at the album art you know this is going to be some crazy drugged out Germans making crazy drugged out music. Originally released in 1972, came back in print with Garden of Delights in Germany. Also available on vinyl (kinda pricey). The entire album is 10 tracks of progressive kraut, a pretty good rollercoaster of music. There's the non-stop guitar shredding, shrieking male vocals, female chanting, slow droning synthesizers pretty much everything you'd think of that…

Does anyone have a copy of "Rock Me Amadeus", the "international" version with the English-speaking voice-over that gives a synopsis of his life? I know the lyrics (well, I found the lyrics), but I really need to hear it...I have the German-language version already. I vaguely remember it having more impact.

Does anyone else care about this besides me?

I've never listened to any solo Lennon, aside from of course the single "Imagine". I am hoping to explore his music further, and am looking into picking up Plastic Ono, Mind Games, and Imagine. There is much debate over at SH forums as to whether the MFSL Gold CD versions are acceptable, since they are remixes. An eBay seller (CD LTD) has tons of copies of all three for around $25 apiece shipped. Feelings on remixes aside, I was wondering how folks here felt about the sound/sonics of the MFSL versions of the above three albums. If not the MFSLs, I'll probably hunt down some inexpensive vinyl versions. Or the new MFSL vinyls, but I heard new MFSL vinyl is noisy.

Yesssssssssssssssssssssssssss....do I like the East Coast..... '' It now looks as though we'll be undertaking a serious (3 week or so) N. American stint in June/July after Nearfest. German Oak - German Oak Amazing, phantasmal krautrock. An improptu recording in an abandoned war bunker. A bit sloppy, but grow some nuts and put up with it. If you like Can, Faust, International Harvester, Popol Vuh and all those greats, most definitely check it out. I was just listening to J.S. Bach's Toccata and Fugue in D minor, BWV 565 (a delayed reaction to Hallowe'en) when I had a bit of an epiphany... why do people send their kids to take piano lessons when they could be learning the pipe organ (common sense answer: because pipe organs are crazy big and complex and expensive and rare)? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toccata_and_Fugue_in_D_minor,_BWV_565 The Wikipedia article suggests that Bach may have composed the piece to test pipe organs... do people use pipe organ repertoire to test their music systems? Listening to this piece on my computer speakers, I can understand why pipe organs are used for liturgical purpose…

So, this is a really stupid question, but I was wondering if DVD-A discs have PCM 24/96 tracks on them? If I have a transport that can play the PCM information off of DVD-V discs, is there any reason it won't work with DVD-A discs? Thanks!
