It's been so long since I've watched the original mini series that it's hard for me to compare the two, but I'm enjoying it thus far.

Anyone else catch the new Tim and Eric that was on the 18th. Absolute comedy genius, all 15 minutes of it. I had to watch the new Casey and his Brother about 5 times in a row to get it out of my system, the poop tube skit was also hilarious. What say you Head-Case members? PRO-TIP: You can watch it at AdultSwim.com if you missed it.

I really loved this show but I was kinda glad that they didn't drag in out till they ran out of decent ideas. But, comcast is showing all the episodes on demand and I'm starting to watch the whole shebang over again. I have to admit that I'm shocked that the much hated comcast is doing something that I like.

I really get off on this, I'll be watching a show and it'll hit me right in the face that an actor/actress I will remember from another show ~ usually it's the more low-key actors that really get me going. Anyone else get like this or do I have serious problems? Examples: Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season 1 Episode 1: Apparently Julie Benz, the super smokin' hot actress that plays Rita from Dexter was originally in Buffy! She is totally not even memorable in the first episode. X-Files Season 5 Episode 9: Guest stars Jesse (Chad Lindberg) from the first Fast and Furious movie, he's ultra young and still ultra lame! "It's all right. I ain't losin'. This fool is ru…

This second season of the limited series is about the Atlanta Olympic bombing and Richard Jewell. And while it pretty much mirrors the movie as far as Jewell is concerned, it's a much more in depth assessment of the events. It's prime focus is on the real bomber, who eluded justice for several years. It also casts one of my favorite actors from Boardwalk Empire, along with a quite good role from Judith Light ( and she didn't even cry in this one ). Recommended ( what else do you have to do anyway )?

I've only seen a few of these PBS shows but once you start, you can't take your eyes away. So far, I've seen part of the steam yacht, the Lysander airplane, and just a bit of the Ahrens Fox fire engine and I'd be hard pressed to say which one I enjoyed the best. Just discovered The Fosters on Netflix. It's an NBC series I think. Some overdone drama, and a little predictable here and there, but underneath is a pretty poignant, more realistic modern family. Not that I have any complaints about the very funny Modern Family series. This series is about two lesbian partners who were raising the Son of a previous marriage to one, then added two adopted twins that needed a home. The series starts with the current temporary fostering of a "high risk" teen. The series deals with several issues, with a heavy underlying theme of modern gay life. It's touching and smart in parts, but it's almost like the writers are being bullied into th…

Has anyone been watching Prison Break this season? I was really pissed at how season 2 ended but season 3 has been decent so far. Of course it's now on it's mid-season break and won't be back on till January. Whatever tv exec thought splitting seasons up like this was a good idea should be shot.

Anyone excited about this? I'm a bit apprehensive, personally. Firstly, because it's a re-telling of the (biblical) King David. Secondly, it looks like Ian McShane is playing Swearengen sans guttermouth. BUT... as a period piece/alternate reality I have to say, if they can pull it off, it might be bloody great. Is anyone else looking forward to this one?

An international crime drama, based on a true story, most of which takes place in the 70's. 8 episodes on Netflix and definitely worth the watch IMO.

I'm not a big fan of streaming TV, and this article will probably date badly in a year, but we appear to be at a crossroads: https://www.nytimes.com/2019/07/10/magazine/streaming-race-netflix-hbo-hulu-amazon.html

I just found out about this show, and caught up on Hulu recently. The story line is that it's 10 years later, and Mitch and Abby McDeere are recently out of the witness protection plan. Many of the characters are there, but played by different actors. All in all it's not bad. Josh Lucas (Mitch) has a Paul Newman thing that I like, and Julliette Lewis is not a bad choice to play the Holly Hunter character, Tammy. John Grisham has a hand in this, and interestingly enough, Helen Shaver is an Executive Producer and sometime Director here.

New HBO series based on Philip Pullman book trilogy. Stars James McAvoy, Ruth Wilson and Dafne Keen. I caught the first episode and will be watching it, even though I haven't read the books.

The black and white seasons are now in the public domain: It was cancelled in the Rural Purge: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rural_purge But I think the success of the Dukes of Hazzard changed their minds... The early 60s had a strange idea of family entertainment. Here's Dennis Hopper as a beatnik:

This and Criminal Minds have pretty much been the only 2 shows i have followed every week over the last few years. Hate to see it go. Looks like Jack will bite the bullet at the end, meaning no comebacks.

"Sherlock" (2010) No not the Downey Jr one. A modern 3 x 1.5 hour episode 'series' on BBC that was broadcast recently and will released on Bluray/DVD on the 30th August Quite recommended if you are able to obtain it. I didn't think I'd enjoy it but decided to give it a try due to positive comments by some friends. I ended up liking it and even laughed a few times (I hardly ever laugh at TV) and found it quite entertaining, if not quite as polished as big budget productions tend to be. I felt this lent the programme a bit of charm and let the focus on title character really shine through, which is good because he's brilliant.
