I had my physical therapy re-eval today, and I'm definitely progressing.
I can walk 10% farther in 2 minutes with just one crutch/cane than I did 4 weeks ago, and I can do 5 "sit-to-stands" in the same 10-11 seconds as before but this time I didn't need to use my arms to push myself up each time.
I'm starting to have less pain since I had outpatient surgery Friday to remove the screw in my femur that was poking out. Eight hours after my last 5mg Oxycodone and Tylenol arthritis strength I was still able to walk about 10 feet in my kitchen without a crutch or cane before I tired out (but 9 hours after my meds dose forget it).
Since I was 50% healed on X-rays 6 weeks post-op from the new femur rod, I'm praying for 100% healing when I have my next visit and X-rays at the surgeon in 6 weeks.
I highly recommend the BMW via European Delivery, I would just wait until spring. M235i on some twisty alpine roads sounds like a lot of fun
If not an option, I would drive all the cars in that class/your price range to see which fit you best. They are all going to be good cars. Let me know if you need help, it's only a couple hours down there.
We have a couple games bumping around the "What Are You Playing" thread, as of late, so I thought it might be cleaner to use this space to discuss the greatest of those games, Elite:Dangerous.
I'll grab some screenshots of my lousy ship and uninspiring progress later tonight, to get things started.
I don't see myself doing the European Delivery unless I have another reason to go to Germany. Jet lag + driving long distances sound like sleepy time for me (not a great thing to do in a car).
I'll try out the M235i though, it seems like a fun car and not super expensive.
2 Watts RMS into 50 ohms and you expect it to drive desktop speakers... NO
klipsch corner horns, probably ok. not really desktop speakers
much more powerful amp coming at some point
Have bought our last two cars sight unseen, by email. One was in Aberdeen and the other in Birmingham. Reasonable offer (with promise of immediate payment by bank wire), quick acceptance, electronic document exchange, funds transfer, car dropped off in driveway a few days later. Super low friction.
Indeed, most dealers aren't selling you a car as such, but merely using it as a vehicle for extracting money from you. TCO calculations are their kryptonite.
Carsdirect.com for the price and manufacturer finance worked for me last time I had to deal with their kind
Next time he tours Dusty make the effort - it is well worth it. For at least half an hour before the concert the synth technicians are working on the ancient gear that he needs for early numbers, just to make sure it is still working and set up right. But JMJ is a phenomenon on stage. Largest audience in Russia - 3.5 million. So seeing him in a "small" venue of 15,000 is just great.
Although why would you screw around when you had Rampling to come home to kind of defeats me.
