What are they asking for the RS? Ford says it's in the mid to upper 30's (at least in my neck of the woods) and for that type of difference (~20%) I'd just get what you really want.

I think I've come up with a good solution for the short term: Put down refundable deposit on RS and go drive ST, STI again at my leisure and make up my mind over the next couple weeks. No real harm on that path and I will have an assured RS spot if I decide it's worth being crazy.

Agreed. I think that you'd eventually regret not going for the RS.

Found out that I owe an extra $1550 in 2015 property taxes. I also only found it out because I went to download the receipt for the amount I had paid online. At least I found out before owing a bunch of interest and before filing my federal income taxes.

As someone who basically gave Doug all creative control with the requirement of the amp being quiet with jh16s, I was more than ecstatic to receive the custom amp Doug built for me. He does good work It sounds great but is also pretty to look at. Understated effortless elegance was how Julie described it. I'd agree with her. Can't go wrong with something from Doug

It's not inexpensive making nice German cars go fast, but I bet your car is a hoot to drive and nice to look at. Your comment about the daily rings true with me, VPI. My hot rod is stupid fast, sits low and has a stiff suspension. Not at all practical for a daily. I got the jeep srt to keep me from going crazy after I holed a motor racing the hot rod and I initially thought about modifying the jeep. That would have been an error as the jeep has made me smile so much more than it would have had I made it faster. It's a hoot and is surprisingly practical as a daily especially with bad weather or roads which we have plenty of. HS

Oh and I at least got $500 off the dealer markup to "close the deal". Crazy amount of money for a Ford Focus but it's an insane car.

Just got this information Pow Chu Moy passed away February 12, 2016 Very Sad.

Got around to making a quick and dirty model using the 5U case internal dimensions and the measured dimensions of the boards, my toroidy transformers, and brackets and such. Looks like there's room but you have to make best use of the vertical space. I don't really know what affects what like the real gurus here but I just tried to keep all the PSU's together and give the stacked amp boards their own space in the corner, as well as left space along the bottom back of the case for power plug/fuse/inputs/outputs. There's an inch or so left near the front that you might be able to shift everything even further away from the transformers as long as you keep all the faceplate controls in the center. I didn't play with any modes on the Golf so maybe there were more fun ones and it was a DCC car so I guess I could/should have set that to sport. That said I didn't enjoy it and this purchase is about that. The STI Limited interior was at least as nice as the golf in my opinion. Which either means it's pretty nice or I don't give a shit about interiors. The point about boy racers is perfectly valid but again I can't give a fuck at this stage as I want the car that 16 year old me wanted, hence the boy racers....
