  1. It was a great series that could have gone either way 3 overtime wins for the Isles.with the last 2 games going to doubleovertime. I agree this series was the most underated of the first round.Very stressfull watching it ,it was that close.

  2. GP4000S 1 or 2 is probably the best balance of flat resistance and road feel. I personally like how the Pro4's ride better than the Contis but they are cut-prone.

  3. Wow, what an ending to the Red Rising Trilogy, I can't remember the last time I enjoyed reading this much.

  5. It is super annoying having to authentic authenticator apps then having to set them back up because there is no other way to do so then being at a desktop browser. After which you can finally login to something like LastPass so you can finally sign-in to some stupid two-factor app.

  6. The only thing in common is puppets - different quality and storyline, and age it was aimed at. As was its Supermarionation precursor out of the Andersons, Fireball XL-5 (made at the same time as Hoppity - very early 60's) The single legged Chucky-like Hoppity was aimed at the same very young audience as similarly naff things like Andy Pandy and The Woodentops. The one that was half way decent out of the same stable as Hoppity was Space Patrol. So yes - I did watch Space Patrol, Fireball XL-5 and Thunderbirds. In a sense it was almost inevitable that many decades later I would spend five years managing a space instrument project (MIXS - the Mercury Imaging X-ray Spectrometer), due for launch next year. But even when tiny I loathed Andy Pandy with a passion.

  10. Well size isn't everything, it's what you can cram in a small box that counts... My KGSSHV is smaller than the Stax amps but is much more powerful and with a completely regulated power supply. The Carbon isn't much bigger and more than twice as powerful than the mini... Plenty of threads here where we rip the amps a new one. We've not been as active in this but that should change shortly. Time to expose the shit that's popular on HF. Something to offset the fucked up news above, a pic of the ever growing Stax museum. I clearly need a second display case in the living room: 009, SR-Omega and HE90 on the top shelf Two SR-1's, SR-2, SR-3 and SR-5 on the next shelf The 404LE, SR-SC1, Lambda Signature, Lambda Nova Signature and Lambda Pro Being all abandoned at the bottom is the SR-X Mk1. A lot of other headphones all over the house plus a lot more in various stages of restoration.

  11. So here's a progress update on my T2 mini build. I started off with the a golden reference version of the T2 supply. Had a couple of issues. There was some 60Hz noise I was hearing (I'm guessing from the integration of the negative rail supplies), which I can probably solve for. Also, the current limiting, which works, wasn't fast enough when there was a shorting issue with the amp on the negative rail (FETs in the output section shorted to the heat sinks). It would pretty much blow out several components in the supply. I decided to go back to the original design, but as a shrunken version (206mm x 200mm). I did some small mods (added cascaded current source for the 30V supply to the opamp and added some additional spots for compensation caps. I finished this over the weekend and have spent some time listening. I've still got to tweak the PS (some small oscillations - probably because I was experimenting with the .1uF cap to the negative input of the op amp and added a .1uF cap across the voltage divider). My BK multi-meter is showing between 1mV and 0 on the AC setting. I've had some of the supplies on the scope but will need to go through all of them. This causes some very faint background noise. The amp has had it's fair share of issues, primarily with the output FETs shorting to the heat sink. I've had this once on the left channel and three times on the right. I believe it was that some thermal compound found it's way inside the collar of the thermal washers (7721-3PPS). I've cleaned these up and have had the amp on for 12 hours now with no issues. Also, the right channel DC test points are all pretty much spot on, but the left channel has an issue with the -543V test point. It is sitting at -502V (the rest of the DC test points are pretty close except for the top of the batteries that sit at +238V). I've been looking at this issue for a while, but haven't figured it out yet. I've got to focus here a bit. Any thoughts would be appreciated. I also have to finesse the battery adjustments to get rid of some occasional noise coming through the right channel as well. I have had my 404's and then later O2's on this beast. Wow, how nice It's been too long...
