Can you get access to a 3d printer? You can print out the plastic part with a 3d printer and use the pins from XLR male connector. I've done many for my DIY headphones.

Added this to "favorites" in Tidal since your first post. Finally got a chance to listen. Totally agree on all accounts. Kind of a Jack White/Doors feel to it. I can't help with recommendations, but I'm all ears if there's another band doing this. I'll be listening to this one again.

I can recommend 3Dhubs.com. Seems like quite a few people around the world have 3D printers that are idle most of the time, and thus are happy to print orders for others . If you have the drawing and upload it, chances are someone nearby can print it fairly cheaply. I have printed a bunch of STAX jacks, speaker waveguides, etc, this way. For STAX jacks, I found the below specification of dimensions from a previous KG post, and made the CAD file using tinkerCAD, which is a free online tool. It can't do complicated stuff, but for a cylinder with holes in, it works well enough... STAX jack Imagine the socket as a 6 pin with the 6th pin missing, but at position 0,0 (x,y) The rest of the pins are at 0,.2175 -.2175,0 +.2175,0 -.1087,-.1883 +.1087,-.1883

I finished the 2nd Witcher 3 DLC this weekend. I'm just gonna come out and say it. Now that I've played through the complete experience The Witcher 3 is now my favorite game of all time. It is finally time to knock Deus Ex off that pedestal and in to the #2 spot. Witcher 3 has everything I look for in a game. Amazing, "adult" storylines. Phenomenal characters. One of the best looking games on PC, a technical masterpiece. Fun gameplay. The amazing thing is RPGs and games with Fantasy themes usually aren't my type of thing at all. It is a testament to how good W3 is that it is my favorite game regardless. The two DLCs are "must play" if you've enjoyed the base game. 5/5. Duh. -- Also finished off DOOM. What a fun little game. Executing hell-demons to heavy metal puts a smile on my face every time. It looks and runs great on PC. Kudos, ID, for doing such a good job rebooting it. DOOM was the kind of game Steam Sales are made for. I've spend about 11 hours with it and now I'm done. I have zero desire to try its multiplayer, and I'll probably never go back through the campaign again, but that doesn't mean I didn't enjoy my time with it. I very much did. It sure is fun to see these old classics rebooted. I would say the Wolfenstein reboot had the better story but Doom runs better and has the better gameplay of the two. 4/5. Get it on sale and let that chainsaw rip.

I am home dealing with some car issues and I just tried Dirt Rally out in VR. It is incredible and the graphics are insane. I have been having a lot of shadow artifacts and distracting other crap with Project Cars but this looks amazing. On a side note Assetto Corsa also looks better than Project Cars in VR but is not "just play" friendly with how the setups have to be done etc.

I read some of what you have written elsewhere, and its becoming clear you don't have any idea what you are talking about. The apex amplifier linked to above is a single ended amplifier, that is there is a single output tube driving an gapped output transformer that carries the full dc of the power supply. The rise time and fall time of the output signal is not the same. The eddie current tube amp pictured above is a push pull amplifier with 2 output tubes per channel. The output transformer is not gapped, and there is no dc in the transformer. The rise and fall time of the output signal is the same. In fact with both input and output transformers, that amplifier can be considered as fully balanced, and fully differential. Big difference in the kind of sounds that these amplifiers make. Now, since a couple have sent me emails about the black widow, here is my explanation of whats wrong with the picture above. Now maybe in the 2 box version the board had to be that size, and was obviously stuffed into a box of a specific size. But designing that way is stupid. In the single box there is all sorts of room to make the board bigger and do a much higher quality layout with better and bigger heatsinks, and having the left and right channels be absolutely identical. The worst offender of differences in left and right channel layout was the melos, but the liquid fire, liquid lightning and especially the liquid glass are in the running. The power supply board is obviously new, full ground plane on top, suitably sized heatsinks secured to the board etc, why use an amplifier from 2007. The stax mafia can (and probably should) do a much better layout with larger heatsinks, identical channels etc. There is absolutely nothing unique about the circuit design. If its going to be eye candy on the outside, it really needs to be eye candy on the inside if its going to command a premium price.

Did a model shoot yesterday with some great ladies and motorcycles. First time I have used big lighting systems. It was pretty fun.

3200 people in Hull. Hull - how on earth that number of people in *Hull* were persuaded to strip, then be spray painted shades of the sea from head to feet is a matter of astonishment. All shapes, sizes and ages. It was the news coverage, where this mass of people walked through the city centre. Absolutely no passers by took the blindest interest - almost "Well - this is Hull on a Saturday morning - what can you expect?" In this world of woe, this all leaves me refreshed and makes me smile.

Rework. A Lilly of the Valley is a pain...

Ok. I need to add labels, but otherwise I think I've got this where I want it to be. I changed out the power switch for a thinner one and change the power led to a through hole. Also, I went back to a 4 pin XLR jack for the output. Since I also have a 1/4" phono jack, this should not be an issue. I've also added additional patterns for the +/- regulators from ebay as well as standup heatsinks for them. I don't have a specific chassis identified, but the FPE custom enclosures will work. I'll likely mill mine myself. Any other thoughts?
